Glad you were unhurt Dave. If you have specific criteria (color, year, miles, etc) I'm sure other members here can help point out potential replacements.
Thanks, all...I know I'm scarce on this forum, but I've also never felt too far from the support that exists here.
I've been thinking a lot about the choice of vehicles I have in front of me now, and honestly, I can't think of a one I'd rather be in than another SSR.
I'd like to go with an '05 or '06. Black or Silver. 6 speed. Sure, low mileage if they exist. I'm a tinkerer, and my SSR never wanted for anything.
Any notice of leads appreciated. CarMax is listing an '05 with 18,000 miles, 6-speed somewhere in AZ for $26K...but I don't want to rush into anything.
Body shop reveals Friday whether it's totaled. If so, I'll post the VIN.
My SSR: 2006 Racy Aqua Blur 6spd Front end all Chrome/SS Tuned/ported
ouch
Glad to see you are OK. Sorry about your SSR. Now you can buy another of your choice but dont rule out an Aqua Blur since you-all have lots of sunny days and the Aqua Blur paint just sizzles in the sunshine, and the market is really fair-priced right now.
My SSR: 2004 Ultra-Violet #8059 born on 4-5-04 and 2004 Ultra-Violet #8173 born on 4-6-04
Gosh Dave. Good to hear from you again - but certainly not this way! Obviously very glad you are A-OK, and also glad you are getting back into the SSR saddle again. Let me know if I can help.
Bob

Spin-out on an expressway in Vegas trying to dodge something lying in the road. Car v. Concrete wall, but the metal on this truck saved me.
Body shop's early appraisal: totaled. Dave's damage: scratch on the elbow.
Lookin' for a new SSR in Vegas...prefer '05 or '06.
Leads?
CourVO
I was on the 101 the other morning (not SSR) and I see shiny sparkles ahead. Look at the two lanes on each side of me, behind me, and see a big window frame right in my path. If I tried to avoid it I would have had the same fate as you. Went over it. BANG!
It was the correct choice. Sometimes you have to just do it.
Good thing you weren't hurt. But, this reinforces my idea that swerving to avoid small animals, birds, etc. is a bad idea. I'd swerve to avoid large objects and stuff that would be impossible to run over such as a concrete block, a deer, moose, etc.... but, a lot of the time swerving increases your chances of getting in an accident.
i seen a black ssr i think its 05-06 i know for a fact its a 6.0l and odometer is somewhere like 20k i believe asking price is 26 but the way the economy is id say 23
Glad to hear you are ok . I for one hardly ever use the freeways to many crazies Id rather drive them in Calif than here . Came all the way from Washington state to Las Vegas no accident until sahara turn off then I knew I was home . Hope you find a cherry low mileage R .
