Okay . . . count me in. Haven't been to Canada since Goldwater was running for President ! ! And what a time I had, car camping all across Canada from the East Coast in a Triumph Spitfire ! ! If there isn't going to be a Springfield Rally, this should open up the schedules and pocketbooks of a lot of other So Cal trucks.
Since I'm a last minute "spur-of-the-moment" traveler, I too, will be quite interested in the cancellation policies of the local motels and hotels. It can't be a sure thing for me until a week out.

Yea......................my "Shiny Bondo Buddy", presently known as "Mr. Rico-Red" is going to British Columbia next June. Glad to read this and maybe we can get a few more from California to make this event.

Don't know if you saw the info about parking on the 08 thread - the plan is to leave the trucks in the park Friday and Saturday night with our own paid security to watch over them.

Adding you to both threads - like you said last year, no sense missing a good meal.

... yup - you all won (or lost ) without them - overheard that Wayne had eaten the yams for dinner prior to the "contest" - I dare not say that is why he "lost".......... So, congrats to you good sports (sans yams) on all of your prizes - Speed-O Contest Heros!!!

Good idea! We are shopping for bigger rear springs already.

Speaking of which, shouldn't the wines be judged as well? We are not wine snobs but we were impressed with the area: we came back with a Marechel Foch from Lang's that was "best of show" for us, the Hillside Reserve Merlot and Cabernet Franc were "best in class", as if we had any.

FYI, we gleefully paid the $5.88 duty (US) on our 28 bottles of wine so as not to upset the delicate North American economy...

One crazy thought, Ray-

For those of us who drink both ways, isn't there a micro brewery or two in the area? I know that Sandy and Wayne "I Yam what I Yam" McKenzie would be in for a "BrewSSR" run, and maybe Hal and George are good for a pint or two.

I don't much like beer, but I'll get some in-depth research done on micro breweries. There are at least 4 in town.

The Barley mill brewery is part of the Barley Mill Pub - nice spot for a really good burger - very active sports bar.

Tin Whistle has some award winning brews, and I think there's still one operating downtown in the same building as Jose's Pepper Club.

I'll do some checking and post some info.

Scott, Iris really like the Marechal Foch as well - planning to go to Lang's and pick up a case of it on Sunday.

You might need that supercharger installed so you can do all the wineries and the brew pubs in one day.

We'll have the cruising part dialed in for next year. Iris and I will take a few more side roads this summer and do some exploring. Tickleberries will probably be on the list of stops for next year again - nobody made you order the quadruple scoop, did they????
