Bakersfield March Meet

Any SSR owners planning to go to The March Meet at Famoso Drag Strip this year ? It is March 18-20, 2011 and falls on the first week of Spring Break so I am on vacation from bussing the little kiddies to school so am planning a trip down to California and at least one day at the March Meet.

Let me know what day and I will try to make it that day. I'm trying to get a couple of Hot Rods ready for the April NSRA meet. Plus I have some very unexpected, but good things in the works.

March Meet 2011

I will definitely be there all day Sunday, Saturday is a possibility but I would have to drive all night to get there and would be too tired to enjoy it. I can't leave Oregon until I get done bussing the school kids Friday afternoon.

I'll most definitely be there, one not to miss! I usually go on Saturday, and if going solo, I'll get there on two wheels.
My favorites are the old gassers and the fuel altereds

I agree the only thing crazier than driving a Fuel Altered would be driving a nitro drag boat, you never know which way an Altered is going to go when it takes off it is not surprizing they outlawed that class years ago.

I like the Old Gassers and Altereds. They were the original Funny Cars.
I will see where I'm at with the production. If I'm close to completion; I may make it Sat, and Sunday.

I actually drove a "B" gas altered back in the early 70s for a guy. Quite the ride - and dangerous as hell. Looking back - pretty stupid - but I thought I was bulletproof back then...

I will be at the March Meets; Famoso Drag Strip on Fri, Sat, and Sunday. I normally only go on Sat, or Sunay. But in TMZSSR's Honor I will go all three days this year. Tomorrow I will be there when the Gates open at 8: AM.

Rain or Shine. It didn't Rain today, But tomorrow looks a bit wet. Thats OK, they have Track Dryers.

I missed Blackie yesterday and You today. I had to help my Bro, today. Tomorrow I will be back at the Drags. I did see a Yellow SSR with Photography Advertisement all over it. That SSR is from Carlsbad.

Well now I'm back Home. So I may as well Bang in the 1940 Ford some more.

I will post some pics probably Monday.
