trying to evacuate everyone if you stay they have you sign something and even list your next of kin ,1600 people and helicopters too fighting the fire
to nite they say big sir is a ghost town

I'll never forget that huge Oakland Hills fire about ten years ago while I was living in Walnut Creek.
Considered one of the most beautiful roads on the planet, Big Sur translates to Big South and stretches from Monterey to Cambria. Fire is part of the natural cycle here though, and in a couple of years it comes back even more beautiful. Even greener, and more wildflowers.

Great pics, Flashback . . . When we do the Kingsburg run to Ragged Point we get into the southern part of Big Sur. Incredible scenery with the surf crashing against the mountains which come right down to the sea.
