They finally opened the Angeles Crest HiWay (HiWay 2), so Gerry and I took off today and made the run up to La Canada, caught the Angeles Crest HiWay and cruised up to Wrightwood for lunch. After lunch we walked around town a bit, and then cruised over to I 15 and headed home. From La Canada to I 15 it's about 55 miles of curvy mountain road. We had very little traffic so it made it a very nice day. The weather was great and we made the whole trip top down.

Shucks, you are in our neighborhood. We took 38 out of Big Bear down to Redlands. Had the oil changed by ICBLUE and then took 330 (they open after 4:00 p.m.) to the 18 and then home to Big Bear. Mary and I loved having dinner at the Blue Ridge Inn at Wrightwood when we lived in Apple Valley.

Maybe next year we can do a run from the Rose Bowl like that or over Angeles Crest and Angeles Forest Hiways to Palmdale and back on the 14. This year seems a bit full up right now.

If school had been out I could have met you in Wrightwood Only cruise this week has been from home to work One more day, after today...school is out on 6/13 and don't have to come back until 8/22
Tim says he sure feels sorry for me, having such a tough, part-time job

If we go back to Wrightwood we will make sure to touch base with you to have some fun. Wrightwood grew up a little bit since we were there. Nice houses and lots of pride in them.

I’m guessing this year is full for you … but what about the rest of us So Cal nuts?
Next year seems like forever.
We were just there for a food trip today. Very nice patio for dining. Talked to the owner and he said if we come, he will arrange special parking so's to be seen from the street.
SO....
We're thinking one of the last weekends in July-either 23-24 or 30-31.
Saturday or Sunday? Which works better?
Any interest in doing this and I'll start a thread for a run.

Hi Don and Annie........either weekend and both Sat/Sun are open right now. You make the call and we'll put it on our calendar. I know that all the bikers meet at the midway restaurant (Newcomb Ranch?). Would we meet in Wrightwood, eat and then cruise? What route would we take?
We're always up for a run with our fanatic friends!

I was thinkn' we could meet on your side of the mountian-La Canada Flintridge area somewhere, cruise the Crest Hwy to Wrightwood to Grizzlies for the food stop. Then whoever wants can go on home thru Cajon on 15 or come the back way down thru Valyermo to Palmdale and 14.
And we're looking at the 30-31st, the last weekend in July...

I would suggest the Rose Bowl as long as it is not swap meet day. If not that there is a shopping center on Foothill at Oaklwood in La Canada with a good parking lot. It is only a couple blocks from Angeles Crest.
