earthquake

I have been living here (Palm Springs area) for 8 years. Just felt my first earthquake. They said it was a 5.8. We have lost phone service but everything else seems to be working.
How about anyone else in Southern California?

Congratulations on your first. Rolling, jerky sensation here at home but hubby had a major jolt in town. An ornament hanging on the slider started bouncing around before I felt anything...dogs thought it was "no biggie"

ahhhhhhhhhh...then it must not have been felt much as I would have still been up and around.

Looks like this one has been downgraded to a 5.4 and there have been about 30 aftershocks that are getting smaller and smaller; a good indication that it wasn't a foreshock to the BIG ONE. Phones and internet must still be out in the LA area since no one has popped up to say they are OK.

We're fine. We were out on the road, and my right front wheel lifted up about 6 inches. I thought I had run over something until it kept rocking.

I was up on the top floor of the hanger bldg and at first, I thought the hanger doors were jamed as we always get that little motion movement when they open those big door but then things really started moving and then I know it was an earthquake.

Wouldn't BELIEVE the afternoon I've had... I took my brother's dog, Patrick up to the Vet's... needed a couple x-rays... Everything was fine... just got back to work... opened the front door when the earthquake hit... Patrick panicked... pulled out of his collar & was off.... I LOST MY BROTHER'S DOG!!!! ... Spent the last couple of hours searching .... I was just so sick to my stomach... Then I got a call from animal control... they think they found him but they haven't been able to catch him... could we meet them... Fortunately... it was him... when John pulled up... Patrick went right to him...

Whewwwww... I am exhausted...

Gee... I can't wait to retire as I'm not crazy about this building. I'd rather be at ground level or at home during an earthquake
