Here are some pictures of the FHLMC foreclosure we are trying to close. Three more weeks of living in this hell hole of a rental before things start to shape up and close. Even after closing there is allot of renovation work before we move in. We are going to LOVE this house if and when we move in.
Yes, it is. We thought long and hard and studied different markets. We both do art work and this is an artist community. It is close to shows like the Little Italy show in San Diego.

Being an artist myself, I think it would be cool to live in an artist area like that.
A lot of inspiration can come from associating with other creative folks.

LOOKIN GOOD, John . . .
Ya gotta love the paneling and the porch ceiling plus the wood burning stove.
AS you know, Crestline is right around the bend. We looked there as well.
I just emailed my brother moments ago as I'm not sure now if it was Creastline, Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear ... Don't think it was Big Bear. Boy .... that was a loooong time ago.

It would be fun to visit with you and yours. If we ever get in and dedicate one of the bedrooms for visitors, which is our plan. I am not sure you can bring the R up in the snow so it might be a summer visit. Okay?
John it looks like a nice place. Toss in alittle of South Texas fixtures and it would be just right
It could use a little Texas politeness and courtesy. You Texans need to know that there is respect for gentlemanly conduct, courtesy on the highway (debated I am sure), quality of roads (earthquakes take their toll here), the Cowboy Church and green fields.
Your pine cones, however, are not good for making pens as the ones in California. The antler sheds are more prevalent in Texas.
You have allot going for you. I still receive the Texas Monthly and read about your politics and other interesting points.

May be taking a drive to Big Bear area. Just curious, is the place you're renting in Big Bear or Lake arrowhead? If we make this trip maybe we could meet for dinner or something. Sal & Bev

At this time we are in Big Bear City. The North end of town next to the airport. Dinners won't work for us until we are in our home. We have two dogs that would need to be left alone. Lunch, however, would work as they are trained to be lone for a couple hours. We travel to Lake Arrowhead three times a week to keep track of our home and like to have lunch at Arturos.

Lunch will work out great. Trip tentative for this week. Just always wanted to see the area & it's not that far, plus it's blazing HOT here in Yuma. Will keep you informed. Sal

Got loan approval today. Now the FHLMA can proceed to put a furnace into the home. The FHA appraisal was done and the modifications to the renovation contract were met to their wishes. Next week we meet with the FHA consultant because one of the repairs is a structural fix and requires we pay $700.00 for a consultant to bless the project. My target closing is July 31st but 8/12 makes more sense.
Yippeee !!!!!

We have been into this transaction for over three months. We have done everything possible to get this frigging loan closed. Between the contractor, FHA appraiser, FHA consultant and the lender it is mind boggling. Tentative date is the 15th. There are two other Rs in the area. One of them is red, the other is silver.
And then the guy who lost the house, stole the new furnace. The seller is to replace it and the lender won't cut the docs. unless the furnace is in. The listing agent, with approval of the FHLMC, was to arrange to have it installed. He dropped the ball and it is not yet done and we don't know when it will be scheduled.
