Headed home from a picnic this afternoon and saw a

in the neighborhood as I was getting off the freeway. I chased it down and flashed my lights, waved and got a wave back so I continued to follow it. It finally pulled over about three blocks from my house and the driver and passenger got out and said Hi. It was Don Carpenter and his wife who live in Sacramento (the plates say Texas). We chatted for a while. They are staying with their daughter in Pasadena right now, but will be moving into her new home in Malibu after a "small" remodel. They showed me a picture. Big place. They would like to invite a bunch of SSRs up for a visit and photo op eventually.
Don is a contractor and will be running some of the work on the remodel but looking for help so I gave his phone number to LT. (Weary Eagle, you might want in on this one, too.)
He said they will be up on this site with some questions so watch for a newbie on the tech forum. He is thrilled with his

which has about 80k miles on it and is a daily drive, but he has some minor issues (which I know can be cared for here). He also has a El Camino which is a daily driver but also a show truck.
How 'bout a big welcome for the new transplants from the north of our state..
