...Q: What exactly is Playland-Not-at-the-Beach?
A. Playland-Not-at-the-Beach is a temperature-controlled 9000-square foot building chock-full of amazing things to see and do. There are 30+ pinball machines set on Free Play, arcade games, videogames, carnival games of skills where you can win prizes, penny arcades full of antique amusement devices, live magic shows, an amazing hand-carved miniature circus, side show acts, miniature dioramas, Fascination games, and historic exhibits with artifacts from the Sutro Baths and Whitney's Playland in San Francisco. Playland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Museum of Fun. Designed and built entirely by volunteers, the 20+ interactive exhibits celebrate the magic and history of America's bygone amusements. Our goal is to educate newer generations about the bygone days and allow those who remember Whitney's Playland and the Sutro Baths the opportunity to recapture the glorious sights and sounds of that marvelous era.
The web site says that there is a lot of free parking available behind the building and on the side street (i.e. Jefferson).

Youths (up to 14 years) $ 10
Seniors (55 years and up) $ 10
We're changing the format a little this time. We will meet at the muster points, gather the group, head to the attraction, and then go for a late lunch.

Directions:
(Please note: The merge point was selected to be Sunvalley Mall to reduce the amount of back tracking for the Bay area group. Meeting everyone in Fairfield and then driving to El Cerrito would have added about 30 miles to the bay area group's drive un-necessarily.)
Sacramento Group:
Muster location: The Trails Restaurant 2530 21st Street Sacramento, CA. They will leave Trails at 8:00 AM using I80W towards Fairfield/San Francisco. Sacramento group will be stopping in Fairfield to pick up additional members. Get back on I80W to I680S towards San Jose. Intended arrival at Sunvalley Mall is 9:15 AM

Muster location: Sunvalley Mall parking lot, SW corner next to Baja Fresh at the corner of Contra Costa Blvd and Sunvalley Blvd. They will wait to link up with the Sacramento group arriving at about 9:15 AM.
The Merge:
Sunvalley Mall parking lot, SW corner next to Baja Fresh at the corner of Contra Costa Blvd and Sunvalley Blvd. Intended departure at 9:30 AM. Looking to arrive at Playland not at the Beach at about 10:00 AM.
