Pacific Region report on the WDC, LCC picnic in Detroit
Well, Lloyd (lloger) and I arrived at DTW airport at 6:00 am
Relatively uneventful flight. Weren't a lot of people to crowd the security issues at 10:40 pm. But got there plenty early so had about a 2 hour wait after checkin for our flight. We both nailed window seats with empty middle seat so lots of room.
WOW, that Lloyd is really funny when he's drunk (I was afraid they wouldn't let us on the plane). Just Kidding.
Rental car by 7:00, 35 miles to Warren and our hotel. Had breakfast along the way. Lloyd has a fantastic GPS unit made by Magellan. Tells you when to do everything. I'm getting one as soon as we return.
Great rooms, booked us into our rooms at 9:00 ! !
Will check in frequently . . . . off to the Marriott and Walmart (to get chairs)
Yahooooo! Glad to hear you made it safe & sound. About now it would be cool to have streaming video of the Margarita party!!! Pictures... Pictures please!! ... Well when you get a chance... long flight, hang overs... might be a while ummmmmmmm. Who wants to book a last minute flight to Michigan? If only!!!

Report #2 - HOTRODGIRL's PARTY
Just back from HotRodGirl's Party . . . . . . Debbie is a kick and very gracious hostess, and without a doubt, a true dedicated Fanatic. More pizza than we could all eat ! ! Double-screw margarita machine (with Focks mixing his own concoctions on the side) . . . . . SSRs of every conceivable color . . . . .all the usual suspects. Great Group of people ! ! Sure wish I were better with names, but can't miss Devastator, Big Jim, Gina, Machal, Focks (complete with air horn that very seriously duplicates the sound of just seconds away from being hit by a friggin' train ! ! )
Will work on downloading pics for the next post (WARNING: I'm not very good at this).

The Tall and the Short of it . . . . Little Debbie, our gracious hostess and Focks (that soup guy)
And, of course, from DVD fame . . . . the donut man, Chris (DEVASTATOR)
Enjoy all, start the Woodward Dream Cruise tomorrow with more on Saturday and the Lansing Craft Centre picnic on Sunday (my favorite because I get to meet some of the people that built our beautiful trucks).
Its nearly 1:00 am here and Lloyd will be banging on my door in 7 hours . . . GAWD this is hard work ! !
Sooooooooo . . . . . . . . . . . .

WELOME TO MICHIGAN MY SSR FANATIC FRIENDS!!!!! I HOPE YOUR STAY HERE IS VERY ENJOYABLE!!!!
It was a pleasure to meet so many of you, Jerry (lloger) and Gary (WearyEagel).....I'm looking foward to visiting you two in CA.
So Many SSR Fantatics and so little time........Thank You to everyone who showed up to make this party successful.
Good morning, everyone. Got up at 6:00 am this morning, MI time, and decided to check in. Had a great time at Hotrod Girl's party last night. When we arrived she was easy to spot, because she was wearing her fire fighting outfit. Debbie is really a great hostess and I know she enjoyed the margarita machine, because she confused me with my wife, Gerry. I wish Gerry could have come with me, miss you babe, but with her son getting married next weekend, she was a little busy. Enjoyed seeing all my old friends again; Machell (Wildcat 66), Chris (Devastator), Michael (Focks), Ed (Purple Penelope), Big Jim from Virginia, and having time to socialize and get to know some new people. I had the opportunity to meet our esteemed moderator, Marc (MarcNy) and so many others that I won't start naming names, because I know I'd leave someone out. Thanks to Gary (Weary Eagle) for posting the great pictures, now I don't have to. Gotta sign off now, have to jump in the shower, get ready, go bang on Gary's door, and set off on another grueling day of cruising, meeting new people and partying. Gary and I have a lot to do, sincle we don't have any other CA representatives to share the load with. It's rough, but someone has to do it.

Great time at the WDC event today . . . had front row seats to all the cruising cars and trucks . . . . took some of our own SSRs parked in the lot too, plus Marilyn Monroe (GINA) was there along with the usual suspects Debbie (HOTRODGIRL)& Machell (WILDCAT66).
Having a real problem with this laptop getting the pics to transfer into a workable file . . . . . AAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH
Sorry, I think some are sideways . . . and, YES, that's a real policeman, a real SSR polic car, but he didn't have his cuffs with him. Its midnite here and Lloyd and I have volunteered to help setup the picnic with Debbie so have to get up in 6 hours ! ! Lloyd is a heartless task master, he never gives me a break . . .

LCC Picnic
I'm so glad CRUZNED (Ed & Chris) posted some pics of the Woodward Cruise. We were located on the opposite (west) side of Woodward and many of the cruisers didn't come down our side, but were packed thick all day on the other side. Ed & Chris went for a Looooooooong walk I'm told and got some great shots of the cruisers. I hope they post more.
Busy day today . . . actually too busy.
Got up at 6:00am to make the 85 mile drive to Lansing and help Deb prepare for the picnickers, along with 7 or 8 Fanatics lead by the donut man, Chris (DEVASTATOR), who obviously has a typical SSR ailment of the right foot . . . lead poisoning. 90-95-100 pick a number. Was sure we were all going to go to jail.
Food was terrific, got to meet many GM employees that worked at the Lansing Craft Centre. Got autographs from "Rick" the Plant Manager, Ed (FREEZER) the Project Design Engineer for our SSRs, and Roger, the man who won the on the DVD #24110, Julie from ASC (sorry I didn't get your Fanatic screen name). Spent a lot of time talking to Gary and Valerie from, to use their words, the "Squeak and Rattle" part of the plant, in which they road tested every one of our trucks before letting them leave their hands, and other workers at LCC. All a great bunch of people.
Well, one thing led to another, conversations went on for hours and by the time we left Lansing and returned to Detroit it was 1:00am. Our flight is at 9:00 and we have to be there 3 hours in advance, so we have to be at the airport at 6:00am and its about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive in Monday morning traffic to drive to the airport and return our rental car . . . . well, I think you get the picture ! ! Its pointless to sleep so Lloyd and I decided to make a post or two, make some coffee, get packed and be ready to head for the airport at 3:00am (getting some breakfast along the way). This is, of course, quite insane, but that's what we're going to have to do.
I have so many pics, but will be able to better post them when I get home and can work from my desk top puter. We're beat.
