Tehachapi

We were informed that our offer on the Atoka Dr., property was accepted by the bank today. It is a foreclosed property with a 4 car garage (2 in tandem) and sits on one acre. The house, we call it the Winchester house because we have not visited it yet, has four bedrooms. Most all appliances were left with exception of the wood burning stove. It has a view of the Stallion Springs valley. We hope to settle in the first part of June.

I used to have friends in the area and looked up the neighborhood, WOW have prices dropped!!!! Anytime you can get a $400k home for $150k it would be hard to pass up. That sure is an out of the way neighborhood, shouldn't get much building going around you for awhile. You should enjoy it, just be careful with the fires in the dry season.

Have a safe move

Thank you. There was an offer for none thousand more than what we offered on the table. Ours went in under the time the bank said they'd take offers and we got it.

WE have bought and sold over fifteen houses during our marriage. We saw a ton of pictures. Mary's brother is a house inspector and had two acres in the same area. He is going to review the house during our ten day inspection period. The house has power, water, septic, and is safe and habitable. We need a washer and dryer and refrigerator. The garage is partially insulated and the kitchen needs to have some trim work tidied up. Stove is still there. Dish washer is still there. They took the wood burning stove. Mary will have a very nice studio over the 4 car garage and I will have a roomy and stunning workshop in the four car garage area.
But yes, your cautions are ones we are aware of. No holes in the walls. Sink is in place. We'll see if they put cement down the drains and glued the locks.

Well let's see:
  • Tea? maybe. I'll have to try yours.
  • Mr. Duck, sounds interesting. What is his hourly rate? Where would he need to drive from?
  • Valentine Day Run, yes. That is one of the things we are looking forward to.

If you are ready, send them NOW. I'd love a chance for a preview. We will be here until after the 16th. The particular part is still out and not packed. And the lathe is still out. Oils are out. Let us proceed.

Thank you. That was kind and generous. We have a bevy of people descending upon the property Saturday. We will be in Bakersfield to close our loan, I think, around June 1st or shortly thereafter. I am going, with your permission, keep your information in my emergency contact list.
