Vegas Mob Christmas Caroling 12-12-09!
As most of you know, last year some Mob members went caroling to three different assisted living homes in the Las Vegas / Henderson area. We had a great time, and our designated “victims” seemed to enjoy it also.
A few days ago, we received confirmation that our efforts were appreciated. We were contacted by one of the homes we went to last year, and they were sincerely hoping that we could return this year. (Who could have guessed? ) Clearly, it was not the quality of the signing that counts. But by sharing some of our time and some Christmas spirit with these lovely people that frankly, don’t have a lot of holidays left, we touched their lives if only for a day. The home that asked us to return said that several of their residents remembered us last year and wanted us to return.
So, the second annual MOB CHRISTMAS CAROLING EVENT is on! (Local noise ordinances be damned!)
Date: Saturday, December 12, 2009
Time: **2:00 PM**
Where: Meeting at Bob & Melinda’s house: 1908 Whispering Cr. Henderson, NV 89012 Gate Code: 2315
We will leave at 2:30 PM sharp and caravan to the locations together. If you wish to bring appropriate gifts again this year (lotions, personal items, notepads, pens/pencils, books, calendars, etc.) I know that they will be appreciated by the recipients.
**UPDATE 12-01-09**PLEASE NOTE NEW TIME Due to a scheduling conflict at one of our stops we had to change our starting time to 2:00 PM - two hours earlier. Also, we are starting two lists of attendees: 1) Those that are going caroling, and 2) Those that are going to the get-together at David & Susan's home after caroling. If you do not feel up to caroling, you are still invited to come to David & Susan's. PLEASE RESPOND IN A NEW POST IF YOU ARE GOING TO BOTH EVENTS OR NOT. See you all there!

Sally and Ski and Mom will be there Saturday at 1 p.m. I bought 20 small Christmas bags and have a couple of bags of lotions, etc. I will either have them all bagged up or bring them over Saturday. I have some boxes to set the bags in. Do you have any idea how many people we might be seeing at the three places we are going? I may need to go buy some more Christmas bags.
Sorry but Sherry and I will not be able to make it, we will be going to Utah to cut christmas trees. We have been doing that for the last 30 years or so with the same bunch of friends. Looks like this could be the last time with the group as several of them expect to lose their houses within the next couple of months. We will be there in spirit. Annie and I can't tell you how good it made us feel last year to know we helped in some small way to provide those less fortunate, ill, or alone at Christmas, with simple pleasures from the offkey songs we sang. Sorry I have to cancel Pam and I coming on the 12th. My mother-in-law
got us tickets for Andrea Bocelli concert at the MGM. With early dinner and
the show it will not work for us this year. We were so looking forward to the good time we had last year. Pam even bought candy canes for the bags.
Please have a great time we will miss you guys but could not miss this concert. Melinda I will bring canes at C&C this Sat.

Due to the weather forecast of snow today and all day tomarrow in Utah, we will not be going on the christmas tree run this year. Our gang of merry tree killers will instead be meeting in Vegas and have a get togather instead. We still wont be going caroling as it conflicts with our plans but can make it to DZH party.
