Wednesday Retiree Lunch

If anyone has the time or would like to join us Ventura County retirees for lunch Wednesday 9/10 you are more than welcome. We are leaving Camarillo at 10:30, going out through Somis and across Grimes Canyon to Filmore and end up at Santa Paula Airport for lunch. So far Jeff (runrodrun) and Martin (pvpdriver) and myself are going. We are also looking for ideas for future Wednesdays if anyone would like to suggest a place.

WOW.... just got home moments ago. The topless drive was great.
Santa Paula Airport is the place to be.
The food was good.
This airport is just like in the old days with no restriction to where you walk. We even sat on a bench that was less then 200 feet from the runway and we watch a number of pilots come and go. We even develop our on scoring system in rating the pilot landing.

Boy...retirement IS fun.

Ahhhhhh yes, retirement is good. A nice cruise through the mountains in the sunshine with the top down, the tunes on, and with 3 SSR's. We had a good lunch and just sat by the runway, watching the planes take off and land. Even talked with a few pilots and looked over some planes. All in all, a good day and enjoyable. Even 3 SSR's creates a stir with people who haven't seen them before. I would highly recommend retirement if anyone is trying to decide to keep working or not. Hopefully there will be more joining us for our next lunch trip.

AND being the 3rd retiree for lunch, I'd like to say it doesn't get any better than this. Had a great time with Jeff and Bob as usual.

The airport is quite unique. Next time we go there must remember to bring suntan lotion.

To All SSR owners in the area... we will probably be having lunch every week (Tuesday or Wednesday). So think about joining us for lunch if you can.

Possible lunch sites in the future

1. Soule golf course in Ojai

2. Ventura Harbor (Andreas for fish)
