Willow Springs Drag Racing!

Starting this Wednesday 9/16 @ 6:00 pm, old school flagman starter, 1/8th mile track!

Hey, it's a start, with enough of a turnout (they make some money) this might turn into a real strip!

I plan to be there and will try to take a few pics if anyone is interested.

I have a meeting and a Doctors appointment that will hold me up until 11:00 AM. But if it last all day and into the night I will still try and make it.

NEVERMIND! 6-10 PM I will be there.

Yup! I may be bringing my Bro EZ.

Good, just don't tell Mrs. Duck- she has allready stated her displeasure with the idea of flogging HER SSR down some race track!

So don't anybody say anything, OK?

I hope to be there.

Would love to make this run, if only to watch. Used to live a several miles from this track in the high desert. Starting a small job tomorrow so will have to decline, but definitely interested in the future. Thanks for posting this, Mr. Duck.

By all means take care of your friends during this tough time for them.

This Wednesday night racing is supposed to go on, so go support their family now and we will hook up again soon.
( Maybe a group get-together?)

I'll go hang out and shoot some pics, get the vibe from what's going on, and report back here with my humble opinions

Willow Springs Pics

ABOUT THE MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE WITH YOUR CLOTHES ON !

About a hundred cars showed up to run, and about that many more just to watch!
For an event that was just word of mouth, no real promoting, pretty good crowd!
I got 6 runs in and coulda done more, but it was getting past my curfew time.
Found out real quick my bone stock '03 is no match for some of these guys with serious street cars, but gawd that was fun!
They ran 1000 foot track, and used the arm drop starter, no timing system yet, but heard thats coming.

Sitting in the tech inspection line, which was checking your DL and insurance paperwork, street legal only. No slicks, no nitrous, no trailered cars!

Hanging around in between runs, just one of those perfect warm summer nights. Plenty of time to check out all the other cars there up close.

Can ya believe a full bar at a race track??
However, if you're wearing a racers wristband, none for you ( and that's a good thing)

It looks like this thing is gonna go on, so next Wednesday,23rd I may have to head out there again!

No not yet, there was some talk about a Friday night race, but not now.
