My SSR: Jwthomp's '03 Redline #1377 or as I call it, "The Mistress"
We just got home about 30 minutes ago. We took the long way home on Highway 550 and then Highway 50 through Gunnison and Monarch. Beautiful scenery all along the way with lots of twisties! Jwthomp had perma-grin on as he rounded the curves all day.
Kart3D we saw your truck in Salida as we breezed through town. Safe travels home.
Just wanted to say a quick note about how nice it was to see everyone this weekend and have fun. Fanatics are very special people! I marvel each time our group gathers at any function about the friendship, commitment, generosity and most importantly the fun we share. We are truly blessed to be a part of this group!
to our Organizers and helpers for the fabulous Durango Rally. This was by far one of the best we have been on (of course I say that about all of them because we really enjoy being with our friends).
At least this year I remember all of the trip -- unlike the Springfield concussion mess! LOL
Thank you to JW, Lori, Jeff, Deborah, Doug, Debbie, Lloyd, Geri, Duane & Elaine -- you are all wonderful and made everyone's Rally the best!
My sentiment exactly. Wonderful job for all who worked on it and to those who joined in on the fun.
Drove straight thru and got home at 8:30. Passed Black Opal and ran with Umpire 13 for a while before Flagstaff when he went south to Phoenix and I went west
thanks to all that had anything to do with making our second trip to colorado perfect. we loved mesa verde and the train but the trip through silverton on to ouray was the best part, the switch back road was cool and in very good condition. that part of colorado is a future planed trip. next time I want to be the passenger so I can videotape the scenery. It was also nice to meet some new people. thanks dean and deena!

At least Wolf Creek Pass is much better than it used to be. Got stuck on it one year when it was still 2 lane and they were widening it. Glad you made it safely. Creed is fun, some nice off-road scenery. Have fun...

496.1 miles on one tank
I want to thank all those involved in organizing this event, and quote a baby Dinosaur from an old Disney TV show "AGAIN!!!"
I made it from Durango to Lake Havasu City turn off of I-40 on one tank of gas. That included a couple 3 digit runs to get away from a crazy in a Toyota SUV that thought I was going too fast and tried to block me in behind a truck. I was just cruising at 85 with the cruise control. Stopped for dinner with friends then on to home by midnight. A good nights sleep in my own bed.
The intereseting thing was that my Avg, Econ. improved throughout the whole trip from 16.8 when I started to 19.0 at the end. We went up and down hills and did some real pushing on the run from flagstaff to 4 Corners and my mileage still was going up. Over all I went from 1300 feet above sea level to about 7200 feet and back but while in Durango it had improved to 18.0 telling me that these trucks do not want to see a 55mph speed limit any more than their drivers do.
It was great to meet all the new (to me) faces and many of those I already knew. See some of you in Temecula real soon.

Home From Durango - 5:30 P.M. Monday
Hey Gang –
Sue I just made it home. We stayed an extra day in Durango to look around and we enjoyed walking Main Street, seeing all the shops and watching the “Fast Draw” shooting competition by the train station.
Mike in AZ, thanks for the lesson in packing in the retractable space. It turned out to be a lifesaver! EZ Money brought some items down from Washington State for me to take to his Arizona home and there is no-way I would have been able to take them with me had it not been for your assistance.
Thanks to John & Lori, Doug & Thumper, Jeff & Deborah, Duane & Elaine and everyone else involved in putting on this event. It was the BEST!
Joe and Sue (AZSSR)
P.S.
We now know that we have “Arrived” as SSR Fanatics. All 50 SSR’s were enroute to the BBQ on Saturday Night and at a T-intersection where we were all going left was a man standing his front porch watching and waving as we went by. The best part is his wife or girl friend was in the doorway in nothing but a towel and a shower cap on! Are we special or what!
Thanks to everybody for a wonderful trip. We got home around 4pm and even had a great time on the way home with Lloger, LT and Blue Thunder. It was fun meeting new people and seeing all of our old friends. We took some great pictures and as soon as Jeff can figure out how to post them, we will share them.

Denny & Kay 1258 miles. 22.3 mpg
My SSR: '05 Concept Truck, powered by Heavy Duty rubberbands, and a really BIG WINDUP KEY!
2300 +/- miles later, and we made it home @ 1:00p. today. I had just enough energy to unload the truck, mow the lawn (it grew @ 5-6"), and get the Hersh-Dog from the vet's, before I fell asleep on the sofa.
We had a great time! While I may not have spent as much time with others from our home state (I can see you all anytime), we really enjoyed hooking up with people from everywhere else and re-affirming old friendships, and making new one's.
We are both looking forward to seeing as many of your smiling faces as can make it next June. If you can't make it in your SSR, you can always fly into San Antonio, and drive up to Kerrville. I will have my SSR and Diane is threatening to bring her Turbo Volkswagon Beetle (just to show me how to take the curves).
I think we have @ 130 more pictures to d/l and resize before I can post them.
