Sorry guys! I have been trying for two days to download my shots from this new camera and I am about ready to throw it out the window!! Great shots one and all. When I figure it out I will get mine posted.

John and Lori,

You guys did a great job. I talked to several Fanatics who said this was their first event and they enjoyed it very much. You did the forum proud. Deborah and I are looking forward to working with you on the 2nd annual Colorado Run - September '08 in Durango, Co. Some of the wheels are already in motion.

Left Castle Rock at 4 a.m. pst Monday morning. Didn't get the snow going through Aspen, but it rained like I have never seen it rain. Muddy water everywhere. Wait till you see the pictures of Blue Thunder. Looked like I drove it through a river bed. Took me all day yesterday to get it clean. The lightning must have been close because when it hit, I felt like I was inside a 100 watt light bulb that just turned on and off. I-70 closed for 10 miles at New Castle because of slides. 2 lane road, I lost about a half hour. Got to Riverside, Ca. at rush hour and lost another half hour at the 91 - 60 - I215 interchange. Pulled in my driveway at 6:55 p.m. - 14 hours, 55 minutes - 1065 miles - 19.9 mpg for the whole trip - 2513 miles total.

Wow - talk about timing! I had heard that RMNP got some measurable precipitation on Monday. I'm glad you were able to safely make it through to the other side.

There is another route to 40 than through RMNP - south on Colorado 7, 72 and 119 to I-70, then west to exit 232 to Winter Park. It adds time, but is the only route around when 36 is closed in the winter.

Jeff is correct - plans are being hatched for Durango in 2008. There are some great ideas, and I'm excited about what we discussed - no details yet, but we will be working on it.

Here are some more pics from my camera:

By the way - we've decided the raccoons will be joining us for all future SSR gatherings - well, that is if our daughter will let us borrow one of them:

Just got home about an hour ago. Still downloading pictures. What a GREAT trip.

There are just too many breath taking things to see out there. I gotta get retired soon so I can see some more.

Thanks to all the Fanatics out there for making the runs such an experience.
