Currently I am leaving tomorrow @ 12:00 noon. Going to drive to Amarillo and see how I feel. If I am still wired, Colorado does that to me, I will keep on going. Otherwise I will hold up in Amarillo and head into Denver on Monday.
Just need to sleep tonight then mosey up the road a ways.
Is anyone bring chairs?

Hooters is ok, from time to time, but darn if its not on my favorties list.
Some of the "Hooters" I have gone into have been pretty dirty. And if the tables are dirty and the floor has food on it from a previous guest I am not always to anxous to jump on up and eat.

Made it to Amarillo in spite of the various unmarked Highway Patrol cars. And I was fortunate to skirt around the heavy showers that have blown through North Texas. While Amarillo has had a mere trace of rain today, 20 miles south of here had they got 8 inches in @ 2 hours. Plan on hitting the trail tomorrow morning @ 6:00a..

What a great drive. Had to slow down in New Mexico, where the average speed was 45, nut you got to speed up near Raton, for almost 10 whole minutes. WOW!!
Raton Pass was overcast, but the temps were in the low 40's, and by th time I got to Denver area, it had only gotten up to 53. Tonught they are forecasting a low about 39. I think I am opening up the window. Yeah baby!
Gas prices jumped up to @ 3.18 for super unleaded closer to New Mexico boarder, but dropped back to 2.90 just south of Denver.

Temps on the cool side
I've been enjoying the cooler temps in Denver as well. I changed the oil in the SSR this afternoon, and while the garage resembles an oven in the summer, it was comfortably cool today. Forecasts for Estes Park is a beautiful partly cloudy weekend with highs in the lower 70's for the rally - once again, be sure to bring your jackets and closed-toe shoes for the BBQ Saturday.

Truck is packed, ready to roll at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Should be in Castle Rock, Co. (near Denver) around 8 p.m. Spend Thursday with family. Arrive Estes Park around noon Friday. See ya'll there!

Be careful Jeff - that's a long time on the road. See you in Estes Friday.

First of many pictures.
Stopped off in New Mexico for walk about, and stretchin of the legs.
I couldn't wait to get to Colorado to see the mountains. Just barely through Raton and my first "Scenic Overlook". It was gorgeous, albeit a little cooler then Plano, @ 43 degrees.
Don'tcha just love those mountains...
Ahh Sunny Colorado... I am so glad I finally made I here.

That about a thousand mile drive in one day. Be careful and enjoy yourself.
Focks you were right! We had a blast at the track but my hearts in the mountains. Those pic's are what we saw in the sky after our morning sunburn. Hang in there the sun will be there for ya'll.
Hi all. We just arrived in Salina, UT. Left home at 7 am this morning. We should get into Boulder, CO around 3 or 4 pm Thursday. We saw one SSR, another Slingshot, but he was going the other way.
So far, so good.

Lori and I will be heading to Estes Park tomorrow afternoon to relax and get ready. The SSR is clean, oil is changed, new air filter installed, and the new set of Firehawks are ready to see some mileage. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

This morning before I was on my way to a friends house, I walked around my truck, and noticed a dimple in the hood, where aparently I picked up a rock. Thank gooness the clear bra was there, but I am afraid my paint got whacked anyway. I put the leathr bra back on, and I am thinking its not coming off until I get back to Plano.

We have been that way before, and both Mapquest and my GPS said the northern route was the quickest way to go.

I don't doubt that...have driven both ways and think the northern route is beautiful...my dad lives in Rangely but don't think you had to go through there to get where you're going.
