Ace Hardware of Arvada is going to be sponsoring a car show and fund raiser for a memorial for the passengers of Flight 93 that went down on September 11, 2001.
The semi-truck in the poster (I could'nt get the picture to paste into the thread) is going to be at the store along with a Top Fuel Funny Car that they are going to start and run for about 30 seconds. If you have ever been around one you know what its like to be close to one when it is running.
They are currently hoping to have over a hundred vehicles from race cars to semi's.
It would really be cool if we could get a contingent of SSRs to show their support!
If you can make it, it would be well worth it, both to see the vehicles and to help raise money to honor the brave folks that died on September 11th and help build a memorial in their memory.

Hi guys!
This looks like fun, but unfortunately, it looks like we'll miss this event, too. JT's traveling with his job right now and won't be back in time. Thanks for the heads up and hope to see you guys soon!
Just a quick reminder for this Sunday. Hope to see you there!
“Big Things with Wheels Part 2” is growing daily and is becoming something that will be unusual in that the cross section of vehicle types is amazing. We are having the Flight 93 Truck, a Nitro Funny Car that is going to fire up at 1:30 in our parking lot, professional pull trucks, monster trucks, The Mustang Club, SSR Club, Fire Department, Police Department, Junior Dragsters, Quarter Midgets, hot rods, race cars, radio control hydroplanes and much more.
Vehicle Show to Benefit the Flight 93 National Memorial
Arvada, Colorado. “A common field one day…a field of honor forever”. It was just an unassuming piece of farmland in Somerset County, Pennsylvania on September 10, 2001. But one day after, on September 11th, 40 passenger and crewmembers aboard United Flight 93 became national heroes when they took action in defense of our country’s worst act of terrorism. These individuals selflessly sacrificed their lives for the good of the nation. Today, we honor them and celebrate their courage and heroism by working to raise funds to help build a national memorial on the Shanksville, Pennsylvania site.
We are excited to announce that the merchants of Market Square (corner of 80th and Wadsworth in Arvada, Colorado) will be hosting the “93 cents for Flight 93, Big Things with Wheels Show – Part 2” on Sunday, September 27th 2009. Proceeds from this event will help raise the $30,000,000.00 required for the Flight 93 National Memorial. Over 100 vehicles are expected to participate in the show such as semi tractor-trailers, motorcycles, antique cars and trucks, racecars, antique farm tractors, radio control vehicles and planes, police and fire vehicles and much more. The show will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Road Scholar Transport, a Pennsylvania-based motor freight company, has donated the use of one of its tractor semi-trailers to promote the campaign as part of its Road Scholar Awareness Campaign. The “93 cents for Flight 93” truck, which will travel across the country, including a stop at the “Big Things with Wheels” vehicle show, is raising awareness of Flight 93, will be wrapped in dramatic, eye-catching pressure-sensitive graphics donated by Ohio-based MACtac, a manufacturer of pressure-sensitive adhesives. The graphics were printed by Harbor Graphics, a wide-format digital printer based in Indiana.

Benefit was a great success!! Over 100 cars in the car show.
Even a GT40 Ford! (Pretty kewl)
They were able to raise over $1000.00.
(Not bad considering the entry fee for the carshow was just a donation)
I also noticed that there was quite a large number of enthusiasts taking notice of Blue Thunder who was able to attend! Thanks for stopping by Jeff!
I will include pictures as soon as I can figure out how to
do it!

What a great event and a great cause. Thank you for inviting us Jim and Nancy! Couldn't resist posting the restored Ford tractor just like the one I grew up on! That is Jim and Nancy, (gnarlydude) our hosts, on the left! (Pic #5)
