Joe and Carol,

I'll be there. I will bring the deviled eggs for the "gas up". I will also see about a pan of "baked beans" and let you know. Also let all of us know what else we can do to assist!

Hey Elaine And Duane,

AWESOME YOU CAN MAKE IT. I Will Put In A Word With The Great Meteorologist About A Blessing Of Clear Roads. Not Sure If He Will Approve The Request But Being Early December And Coming From The South The Stars Could Line Up For A Great Party.

WITH BLUE THUNDER NOW PROVIDING THE DEVILS AND BEANS, THERE IS STILL APPETIZERS, SALADS, DESERT OR ANY OTHER IDEAS YOU MAY HAVE.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!

JOE AND CAROL

Thumbs up Party

Sounds Great John and Lori!

It will be a fun gathering and hoping for good weather to take a cruise through downtown Littleton with millions of Chrismas lights.

Just let us know what you decide to bring and I will add it to the menu.

Thumbs up Call Me "slammer"

HEY GANG, FOR THE CHRISTMAS PARTY YOU ARE NOW GOING TO THE SLAMMER!!! I JUST HAD MY SCREEN NAME CHANGED TO SLAMMER AND THERE IS SOME HISTORY HERE.

WHEN THE SSR WAS JUST A CONCEPT, A DESIGN TEAM AT ASC DEVELOPED A NUMBER OF SKETCHES. MY BROTHER-IN-LAW, DOUG UNGEMACH, CAME UP WITH THE WINNING IDEA.....A LOWERED, MORE CAR-LIKE "SLAMMER" DESIGN, WITH LARGE FLARED FENDERS, A SCULPTED HOOD AND REAR-ACCENTED STANCE. DOUG'S SKETCH HAD THAT "SLAMMED-TO-THE-GROUND" LOOK. THE SSR WAS REFERRED TO IN-HOUSE AS THE SLAMMER UNTIL THE POWERS THAT BE DECIDED THE NAME HAD SOME NEGATIVE CONNOTATIONS AND THE "SSR" WAS BORN.

WHEN I FIRST JOINED THE FANATIC BACK IN'06, I DID NOT GIVE MUCH THOUGHT TO A SCREEN NAME. EVEN THOUGH MY BRO, DOUG, DESIGNED THE 'R', I DID NOT KNOW ALL OF THE HISTORY HEW WENT THROUGH IN THE DESIGN PROCESS SO AS A TRIBUTE TO DOUG I HAVE CHANGED TO WHAT THE FIRST NAME WAS, "SLAMMER".

DOUG HAS DESIGNED MANY DIFFERENT VEHICLES AND NEVER PURCHASED HIS OWN "SLAMMER". HIS BOSS THOUGH HAD A FACTORY CUSTOM '05 BUILT IN THE LAMBORGHINI ORANGE AND THAT WAS TO BE A NEW COLOR CHOICE FOR THE '07 "R" WHICH UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT GET TO PRODUCTION DUE TO LACKLUSTER SALES.

SO HERE IS SOME HISTORY FOR OUR BELOVED "SLAMMERS"

JOE

Sorry we won't be able to make your party Joe - the history about the Slammer is interesting - and I really hope you and your brother-in-law can make it to Laughlin (or at least Colorado Springs) so he can share the SSR development stories with all that want to listen. Even though it is now politically incorrect, MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year to you all!

Thumbs up BRING R's

Hey Gang,

There will be no snow on Friday and Saturday so the roads should be good. Take the car covers off to drive your R to the party. After stuffing we can take a cruise through scenic downtown Littleton. Then we can come back for dessert and fellowship.

The next snow is forecast to arrive on Sunday so you can get the R's back under the covers.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THEN PLEASE POST SO EVERYONE WILL KNOW HOW MANY VITTLES TO BRING.

Looking forward to a fun gathering!

SLAMMER JOE

Pics

BIG WAVE took several photos and is on their way home to Sedona. They had to drive in the snow for awhile but made it south safely out onto clear roads. When they get home they will load the pics onto the forum so standby.

We had a great time with 7 trucks. Took a cruise through scenic downtown Littleton and then stopped for a photo op in front of a neighbor's home that looks like Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation house.
