Colorado is a great SSR destination in itself - just about anywhere you go in the Centennial state has fun roads to drive and spectacular views to see. But if you need a destination to go to, consider heading to the
Gateway Colorado Auto Museum and
Gateway Canyons resort. For those of you who saw the $3.2 million dollar Barrett-Jackson Oldsmobile F-88 auction, this is the auto museum it went to. There are plenty of other cars to view as well in the 30,000 square foot museum. Other activities include hiking and horseback riding, and the resort offers romance weekends and theatrical murder mysteries as well.
The Museum opens for the season on May 1st, 2007, and will be holding the Second Annual Gateway Canyon Classic Auto Festival on May 19th. August 10-12, 2007 will be the Gateway Canyon Road Race and Tour. Gateway, Colorado is on the Western Slope, South of Grand Junction on Colorado highway 141.
