When the top is down and you hit train tracks or bumps like that the, cowl or frame around the windshield moves back and fourth, I think thats what he's saying???
I said it in the other thread about this list. The ssr doesn't have bad cowl shake when compared to other large convertibles. Mustangs, for example are much worse. However, a lot of SSR's come from the dealer out of adjustment, and with dry seals, so the roof rattles and squeeks and exagerates what cowl shake there is. Also the windows tend to rattle in their track when down, and the door latches can jiggle . As we all know, some well placed lubrucant , and adjustments really quiet the thing down and make it feel more solid. These problems shouldn't be there. but at least they are fixable and not major structural design problems . However, to someone not really familiar with the truck, such as a magazine test driver, it seems like major cowl shake. This was one of the things that helped hurt the SSR in the press. It was mentioned on a lot of the magazine test drives. It's also stuff that would have evolved out of the SSR or been dealer addressed had production continued.
Actually a lot of development went into our trucks to keep cowl shake minumum.

Very valid points, FlashBack.
I agree with the "Cowl Shake" issue . . . however, when compared to the other retractable hardtops, Volvo and Mercedes, my SSR is equal to or even a little better. Unfortunately, a little cowl shake is a necessary evil.
As for the "Window Rattles" and "Top Squeaks and Rattles" . . . thankfully, my SSR must be special because it does neither.

Doophus, I agree with you on all counts. Maybe its just the yellow ones that don't shake, eh?

On that list, what's a 2002 35th Anniversary Pontiac Firebird? Hmmm...they never made that! A 35th Anniversary Trans Am would have been a 2004 model. The last Anniverary Trans Am was the 1999 30th Anniversary, like mine! Don't you hate it when journalism is filled with so much trite incompetence nowadays?

First Generation (1967-1969)
The last Firebirds came along for 2002 with, yet again, minimal changes — the only notable exception to that being the 35th Anniversary version for the Firebird, celebrated with a Trans Am, which featured yellow paint, black wheels and special graphics.
