Wow! The price sure did drop on those signature series SSR's. They are actually cheaper than the rip off dealers in my state charging in the 60's and 70's for SSR's that aren't even sig. series models. Should be interesting to see where all this goes.
If there are major problems with the retractable top, the signature series that have been out are worthless. I bet the regular production cars, if they come out, will be worth more since they'll be less problematic. (Who says I'm not optimistic?)

keep you guys and girls posted if something big comes up.
Just checked on the Signature Series auction.

Chevy SSR Sold to the Highest Bidder for $93,100
Chevy SSR and eBay.ca Motors present auction proceeds to
the Canadian Cancer Society
TORONTO, Sept. 22 /CNW/ - The first Chevy SSR available for sale in
Canada sold for $93,100 on eBay.ca Motors as part of a charity auction. Lee
Munro of Paris, Ontario placed the highest bid on the Chevy SSR - buying one
of the most highly anticipated new vehicles in Canada.
"I am truly ecstatic to have been a part of this auction - not only have
I purchased one of the most unique cars in Canada, but I have also been able
to help an extremely important charity," said Lee Munro, owner of Lee Munro
Chevrolet. "General Motors of Canada, eBay.ca and the Canadian Cancer Society
have created an opportunity that is almost impossible for any car-lover to
pass up."
"The Chevy SSR auction was a huge success and we are thrilled with the
overwhelming bidding response," said Jennifer Dawkins, director of advertising
for GM of Canada. "We would like to thank all Canadians that took part in the
auction and helped generate the funds that will go to the Canadian Cancer
Society."
The Chevy SSR was auctioned on eBay.ca Motors from September 5-15, 2003,
with one hundred per cent of the auction proceeds being donated to the
Canadian Cancer Society. The new Chevy SSR combines the muscle and eye-
gripping looks of a performance roadster with the durability and space of a
pick-up.
General Motors has a long history of supporting cancer-related causes and
the Canadian Cancer Society. GM has contributed $250,000 toward helping the
Society achieve its mission, and both GM and its employees have contributed
almost $8 million to cancer causes in Canada over recent years.
"We are thrilled with the results of the charity auction of the first
Chevy SSR," says Valerie Carter, Group Director, Brand Management, Canadian
Cancer Society. "The support of General Motors and the generous donation we
receive from this innovative fundraising partnership will help to strengthen
the fight against cancer in communities across Canada."
To facilitate the auction process, GM has partnered with eBay.ca Motors,
the world's largest and most experienced online marketplace for the sale of
vehicles. Every month, millions of car dealers and consumers turn to eBay.ca
Motors to buy and sell used cars, parts and accessories as well as other
vehicles, collectibles and related items in a secure and cost-effective
environment.
"The sale of the Chevy SSR on eBay.ca attracted a considerable number of
visitors over the ten-day auction period. We are happy that the sale of the
car raised such a significant number of dollars for a wonderful cause," said
Jordan Banks, head of business and strategic development, eBay Canada.
Perhaps the relatively low prices the signature series are fetching will send a message to some dealers who are looking for more than MSRP on the units they have coming in. Kind of confirms that the SSR may be overpriced for the current economic market.
I bought mine for $51,000. Build date is now Nov. 3 and its a 2003 model. Unfortunately I'm going to have to back out of the deal and I'm looking for someone to take my place.

On the list in the previous post auction sale prices are missing on Signatures #5,7,9,10,14,16,17,18,22,23 & 24.
I have:
#07 - $69K to Bean Chevrolet in Vermont
#16 - $65K
#17 - $66K to Paradise Chevrolet in California
I don't believe there is a completed aution list around, at least I have not seen it. Do you think we can fill in the missing prices? Then maybe SMKN_SSR could edit his Post so we could have a completed Auction History.

Reason: Amend #07 dlr.
In retrospect I should have gone about this differently. Oh well, we'll see where this goes.
You're a bit early reviving this thread.
I've been compiling the Signature selling prices for quite a while, and got more motivated to accumulate all the selling prices over the last couple of weeks - for some strange, undisclosed reason.....
I still have 6 unaccounted for, but suspect that two of those are at a Chevy dealership in New York - if only he'd return my calls.
Now trying to confirm which Chevy dealers originally bought them, and which ones still have them
It's not easy getting Chevy dealership owners to return calls.
As soon as I have all the data compiled, I'll post it on the new thread I had set up for the Signature Series.
On a good note, the average auction selling price of the 24 Signature Series that were auctioned was $75652
Those are net prices, before commissions. Most appear to have carried an 8% buyers fee. VINS 19 - 25, the Media Review trucks were sold at GM dealer only auctions, and had very low buyers fees.

I believe Kevin Whitaker, owner of Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet, Greenville SC owns one of these. I bought my truck there and he had a 03 purple in his showroom which is more less a car museum. I'm almost positive it was one the above. Let me know if you don't get any info from them. If you call ask for Mark Becker. Tell him the guy who flew to SC from Las Vegas to buy the blue FPR 6 speed truck in August 2006 sent ya.

Anyone ever tell you that you have marvelous eyes Bagger? I'm sure they have.
Yes Flassh, that's why I made the second post. I didn't want to be digging info out of you at this stage as I know you are still getting your stuff together, as I am mine, sort of.
I felt there might be info out there that you don't have yet that might come to the surface by my poking about. We await with bated breath the arrival of your Signature Series data.

Yeah, Bagger is a cutie, isn't he?
Thanks for the update on the Sig series.
Whitaker has #9 and #21. I've talked to Mark Becker a couple times. Each Signature scrapbook has one page specific to each truck. I'm trying to accumulate those, but it's been like pulling teeth so far.
The current whereabouts of some Signatures is still unknown, and that information shouldn't be coming from contacts at GM due to privacy laws.
If anyone knows where some are lurking, that would be great.
Following is the truck designation, build date, selling price, auction location and date for the MIAs.
Two of these are likely still at Paddock Chevrolet in New York, but several attempts to contact them to confirm which ones have failed.
