Crazy about NASCAR

Janet Godfrey is a self-described NASCAR fanatic and a fan of the racing Earnhardt family. In honor of Dale Earnhardt Sr., who died in 2001 in a crash of his famous #3 racecar, Janet, 45, had her "little red truck," as she refers to her 2004 Chevrolet SSR, custom-painted with a portrait of Dale Earnhardt Sr. on the trunk lid. In the lenses of the sunglasses Earnhardt was known for wearing are the reflections of the cars of his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and his father, Ralph, also a racer.
Hometown: Southgate.
Profession: She and her husband own several Detroit businesses, including an automotive aftermarket parts business and automotive scrap operation.
Personal: She has a 21-year-old son who is not a NASCAR fanatic -- "yet."
Passion: Janet started watching NASCAR racing 15 years ago when Dale Earnhardt Sr. was racing in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and his then-young son was racing in the lower-level Busch Series. "I can't tell you the specific moment, but I watched it one day and I got hooked," Janet says.
Janet and her husband have season tickets at racetracks in California, Nevada, Texas, Florida and North Carolina.
Daily driver: In winter, Janet drives her customized 2004 Chevrolet SSR. In summer, she tools around in her 2003 Chevrolet Corvette -- a red 50th anniversary edition -- or her yellow 2006 Corvette.
Janet bought a 2004 Chevrolet SSR that she thought was "cute" with the idea that she would customize it with a NASCAR theme. She had a friend install a larger engine -- a powerful six-cylinder, 520-horsepower one. She hired a customizer in Wisconsin to paint it.
Her license plates: NASCAR 3 on the SSR (the 3 for Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s car), NASCAR 8 on the red Corvette and NASCR8 on the yellow Corvette. (The 8 is on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car and was used in his father's early days of racing as well as his grandfather's.)
Early drivers: "The first car I bought on my own was a Mustang Mach 1 in 1972. I owned other Mustangs, three Pontiac Trans Ams, three Chevrolet Corvettes, and I have a Lexus SC 430 convertible in Florida."

Hi there.
I am a SSRfanatic - part of a group of SSR owners that meet at the www.ssrfanatic.com website to keep current on our FINE Chevrolet SSR's!
I saw your story thanks to GOOGLE alerts - I'm notified of stories that relate to the SSR.
Do you have contact information for Janet? If so, could you please forward this email to her - I'd like to make sure that she is aware of the SSRfanatic website. Also, after posting the story - several of us are interested in what type of six cylinder, 520 Horsepower engine that she has installed in her SSR!
Thank you very much for your assistance.

What I don't understand is that the TrailBlaser DOHC 4.2L Inline Six is the exact same configuration as the famous Jaguar XK120/XKE engines that won LeMans, and could hit over 200mph at Bonneville. Seems that engine should have some great SS potential.
