2006 Chevy SSR
SSR was a cool concept, and just different enough that it might've spawned a cult following. A retro-styled pickup with a retractable hardtop roof, SSR's fatal flaws were being underpowered and overpriced at the outset. The former was fixed in the last two production years -- too late to change its fate. SSR's price condemned it to compete with every 40-$omething, two seater in the marketplace -- a payload that proved too heavy for the cool Chevy.

Plus: Early year Signature series are the most rare, but were underwhelming performers. The final year models (2006) were the most fun to drive. The LS2 motor made 400 hp when linked to a 6-speed stick; a strong powertrain with a great, V-8 rumble.

Iam like the proud owners of an SSR. And I think its so cool to be in that very short list of cars. Now watch the view people have about our hotrods, but if my SSR is worth a penny or a pound, Iam glad I have mine and its not going anywhere but faster

My momma used to tell me that if i didnt go to school and study hard i would be a good- for- nothing that would probably just end up following a crowd and end up in a cult!
Wow mom! I made it!-didnt have to shave my head or smoke any mushrooms to join;just buy one of the coolest production cars to come out of Lansing in a long time!
(I think mom would be proud!)

I sure was sucked in. That's why all my $$ has gone to support the group of spare parts, spoilers, exhaust, pinstriping and trips. This sure is a cult I'm glad to be a part of.
