Question How do you get a build date?

I am curious how some dealers have obtained an actual build date on a vehicle for their clients. I thought you actually had to have a VIN first to get a build date? HOw is it some of us have build dates that are very specific and others are very generalized like mine? It would be very helpful to find out just how this process occurs, don't you think? Mine is a build date of Nov. and deliver in Dec. but no specific date is available.

Thumbs up TPW

Your have what is called TPW! Tentative Production Week. That is where the General's (guesses) computer system figures out your week of Production. Now some of us have already got our SSR's built. That's why we have a built date! FYI!

Ron must not have many intentions on keeping his long...LOL !!

I'd be surprised if any given dealership received a second 2003 allocation.

Thanks for clearing that up Ron. Hope my TPW becomes an actual "Build Date" soon.
