Hello everyone! While I am not an SSR owner, I thought I would post here to let you know of a "Tribute Page" that I just completed. I am the webmaster of The Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Registry and I thought we would honor the SSR in it's final year for the fine job it has done at Indy! I think that we have some new photos from over the years that your Forum members may not have seen before, and I have a few more coming!
OMG you have some amazing shots. and thanks so much for thinking of the SSR and us! Do you have more pictures? I would like to be able to copy them to my SSR File, if that is ok?
Glad you are enjoying the photos. I will be at the Speedway next month for the Pace Car Reunion (5/19-21) with my '95 Corvette Track car (#137). I will get a lot more photos of this year's SSR support vehicle and I would be glad to send them your way. But unfortunately, the photos on our website today were given to us under exclusive copyright and we are not allowed to share with anyone....
Also, for any SSR Indy Pace Vehicle owner out there who is interested, here is the IMS link with information on the Pace Car (Vehicle) Reunion next month!!

If I had a pace car (truck) I would certainly come to that meet!
It is possible the owner of the copyrighted photos (Howard K?irkenhaur?) has these prints for sale? There are some amazing group/night shots that I would gladly pay for a framable print.
In working with the Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Regisrty I asked Bob if he wouln't mind doing an SSR Tribute Farewell Page off of the Corvette site. Since these are the LAST SSR's that I have taken delivery of (just like Camaro) I have documented everything we have done while these are here.
He agreed and didn't seem to mind so I went through my picture files from 2003 to current to try to find the best I had that described the SSR while being used at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
I have made the trip to Lansing to the Craft Centre with the help of Glenn McMinn and was able to photograph this vehicle while in it's last week of the 2003 production.
I want to tell you all that with Bob I will make sure that we post some of the images that I have aquired as my camera travels with me everyday to work and throughout all of the time we worked with these special vehicles even up to when these are sold off.
I want to thank you for having a site like this which keeps the spirt alive even though the vehicle may be gone.

SSR Tribute
WOW That is most defiantly some of the nicest photo's I've seen of the SSR or group of SSR's. The night shot of the 2004 redlines w/ corvette's was slick!! I've never seen that many reds in one place. All of the photo's were excellent
Thank you so very much for sharing this with us!
I would also like to know if or how we can obtain the pictures and or article?
To that member Flassh who is keeping me honest, you were correct on the error we had on production counts!! I have added a table on our page with the 2003-2006 US and Canadian production counts. Thanks for pointing this out to me...
Wow, how many people would spend that much time and effort to honor other people's passions?
Way to go!!!
Doug,
I really like working with automobiles and working with the projects that we do you see things that most people never see and to capture it . . Oh!!!
I have done is something that I can look back at and enjoy as well.
I have documented Pace Cars for several years and the SSR being so special that I need to do the same and I am glad now that I have as it will no longer be available.
I am just very interested and into automobiles and I have also created a set of '04 & '05 "Indy 500" festival die cast cars and I am working on the '06 models now.
Speaking of farewells, it would be awesome if you could come to Detroit this august for the Woodward Dream Cruise and the SSR picnic at the former Lansing Craft Center. Your photographic skills would certainly be appreciated by all the SSRfanatics and there will be many!
Well, I would like to come to Woodward this year as I have many places that I have been but this is one that I need to cover. I have many friends who have been there and just think it is really great and I should attend sometime.
I will try to make the show. . . . . . It all depends on my schedule . . . . . . . . . . .
