This was based on Time Magazine

What an authority this guy is...

"It's surprising, considering that Chrysler and GM are in the same town, that GM didn't learn from the Plymouth Prowler episode. When GM decided to kick up some custom retro mojo, it commissioned the Chevy SSR, an awesome-looking hotrod pickup truck with composite body panels and a slick convertible top. Alas, the chassis and mechanicals for the SSR were borrowed from GM's corporate midsize SUV program, making the putative performance machine heavy, underpowered and unforgivably lazy. It was no more hotrod than Britney is the next Helen Mirren. In the next couple of years, Chevy amped up the SSR but by then the credibility was gone. The SSR also violated a principle of hotrodding. Hotrods are homemade subversions of the existing order, mechanical folk art. There is no such thing as a factory hotrod. Seems obvious, in retrospect."

But to quote that guy...."My HONDA is the best car I have ever owned." While a Honda may be a good car,it's about as exciting as a dirt sandwich. And I'll bet his Honda has one of those big wings that makes it look like a "Shopping Cart"

Wtf?

It appears that they're all ricers so who cares anyway about their opinions.
Let them cruise in their crap and be happy in their own minds.
Besides, look at his handle, sfo, that says it all.
What a d**k head. Honda, my a$$.

I used to deliver the New York Times before work back in early '70's because I liked to read it. But I haven't read IT in 5yrs and I would not even use IT to light a fire in the fire place. I also have been a subscriber to Car & Driver since it started as a Sports Car News Paper, Sports cars Illustrated, they are all in the baement. This year I have decided after 50+ yrs to NOT RENEW. I took some journalism classes at nite school and I can't imagine what they are teeching these writers but what ever it is it SUCKS! They know nothing about the product they are reviewing and they get all wrapped up in cute little personal opinion inuendo's. I'm not paying for that. If that was what I wanted I would buy the Tabloids!!! I quit Road & Track after John Bond sold it as the new people f****d it up. Now my Wall Street journal is going the same route as IT has been sold to MUREKY Murdock. No wonder I'm low on oxygen, what with all this spout'n off!

They're probably badmouthing the products they like to keep pricing down until they can afford them.
I feel you on subscriptions. Went to get a Chevy Performance magazine the other day...$4.95. For a magazine! They can keep it.
Maybe I should put this on Pet Peeves.
Really now. I get you on the journalism thing. It's all about selling dirt.
