Oh Crap. These will probably cross the block at Megabucks just when I get back into the market trying to find the buy of the century. I guess I'll just have to keep looking for that guy with a low miles 06 that needs a kidney. PM me if you know him.

Don't be so sure about the high selling price. If any other auction is an indicator, I would say this one is going for pennies. Oh, and I could use the kidney

Actually, I sold the Pac Blue. The '06 I have is the LAST BLACK ONE.VIN 24107
3ss,chrome, auto. Not the rearest color, but the last one, and only 5 from the end of production. If I needed two lungs, a heart, and a boob job, I might consider letting that one go.

I've seen you in real life - the boob job won't help.

Nice truck, though.

If it was red, I'd be bugging you.

I'd like to see upwards of $60k for the Last Saleable One. And of course, BIG $$$$$$ for the SIGS.
Just dreaming though. A no reserve auction tends to drive prices down. (JMO)

Rumor has it that Bob McDorman didn't want the last SSR in the auction.
He wanted to keep both the #2 and the last one.
It was "put in the auction by mistake".
They are planning on buying it back at the auction.
I guess we will find out tomorrow.

Wow, that's big news if Bob and his people are going to be bidding to win the those 2 SSR's back to his collection. My thought is that both the #2 Signature and the last sellable will go for 45-50K each...

Signature 2 is not for sale. Bob kept it for his collection.

We'll know the fate of 24111 tomorrow. Until then, just rumours.

It would appear during this recession they bottomed out, like everything else, and are climbing back up. Holding their value will depend heavily on the condition they're kept in. The garage queens, and never-saw-rains, will certainly return more than my daily driver... but I have more fun.

Those were all gavel prices.

Mecum charges a 10% premium, and they still need to freight them home.

The real prices were

$49500
$70400
$49500
$119900

Plus shipping and any taxes to be paid.

It was a great day for SSR values.

The last C5 Corvette sold for $41000

Several 2003 - 2006 Corvettes sold for under $30000, a couple of very low mileage cars in the $23-24K range.

There were three committed buyers for 24111. It was a rush being there watching it happening.

The buyers took it away on an open trailer immediately after the auction, so no isssues regarding a buy-back by McDorman.

Several of us were having conversations with the buyers. They are fairly new to the SSR world, but very enthusiastic about the truck.

They are committed to becoming a primary source of parts in the future, so a great addition to the SSR family.

I figure the SSR has done very well in an economy that has kicked the crap out of everything else.
Not sure why people expect to buy a vehicle, drive it for 5 years having fun every minute of this time, and do all this for free or even make money at it.

Maybe because they swore to their wives it was a sure money maker, if they didn't drive it too much, and polished it every weekend.

I understand some people paid 50 grand, and seeing trucks selling for less than half, due to Cheney flushing the economy, is as little hard to swallow. Especially if hanging on to it a while longer upsets plans, like retirement. Lets face it, there's a whole lot of us who are...uh, losing weight, a couple hairs at a time.
