SSR Banner Located
Happy New Year, my fellow fanatics. I just got off the phone today with the proud owner of the very large SSR banner that was displayed from an office building at the Chevy Triangle on Woodward Avenue in 2004 & 2005 (WDC) and also was displayed at the LCC for the past few years. I am happy to say that Mr. Dick Iding, President of Bud Kouts Chevrolet in Lansing informed me today that he has taken ownership of the banner, and it will be preserved for the future. I told him that many members on the site have wondered for some time what the fate of the banner was, and that all would be glad to hear that the banner is safe and was not destroyed. Mr Iding is an avid SSR owner and advocate. He also told me that the banner might be available for future use at SSR events. He also says the banner is 30 x 100 feet and weighs 200 lb. He received it folded up, and last week he had plastic laid down in the parking lot at the dealership so that the banner is now rolled up and stored without any creases. I was also informed that the Lansing Craft Center is still standing. So once again, Happy New Year 2008 to all, and thank you, Mr Iding for saving a piece of our SSR heritage...
