Talking SSR in the movie The Island

We just watched the movie The Island on DVD and spotted an SSR I know I've seen somewhere before. Perhaps one of our Fanatics owns it? It's painted flat black, flamed, it had an Arizona license plate in the movie and one of those girlie stainless steel cutouts on the back like you see on semis.

Check out the photos I snapped of the TV screen:

Only if they can prove that the lowering caused the warranty issue.

notice that they also had 3 people in the seat in The Island. Could have been fun for the actress in the middle i guess.

I remember that SSR from earlier posts, sounds wicked Who is the owner, one of our members? Top Picture off the TV was decent, I'll have to try that.

I dont think so. Very hard on the butt I'm sure. Unless they modified it for her. But then again, she is a tiny girl I'm sure.

I backed up the movie and looked at that scene where all three were riding at the same time. One guy was driving, the little blond gal was sitting in the passenger seat, and the other guy sat sort of sideways on her lap.

I'd have figured she would have sat on his lap.

Oh well. Only in the movies.

I'd still love to see a conversion back to that bench seat. For those with automatics, it wouldn't be super hard to change it to a steering wheel shift column, and replace the seats.

We did have a member look into doing that. After he had the seats and center console out, I think he decided it wouldn't be an easy task either.....

I believe...

Focks and Mr Vettegirl had @ 1 time posted pix of the interior stripped. Too much electronics under the console and waterfall to do this.

SSR in Movies

We watched the movie "Borat" the other day. Please don't hold that against us!!!! Early on in the film, Borat is in America and wanting to buy a car - he goes to a Chevy dealer and in the background in a SLINGSHOT SSR.

I am not sure if this is the same SSR from the Island movie, but I have seen one just like it in Avondale (or Litchfield Park), AZ. I have seen it several times around the Dysart Rd. and Indian School Rd. area.
