SSR Parts shortage on local TV

Friends at work saw an interview on Orlando TV last night and the Guy was mad about Chevrolet SSR parts not being available. Did anyone around here see it? I got an Email today from customerservice@gmpartsdirect.com and my "driver side wiper blade #15828971 and passenger side wiper blade #15828972 is on backorder and no estimate when GM will have stock available." I told them my safety is being compromised and need the parts - 3months now. Thank goodness for rainX and Rejex...anyway it was either channel 6 or channel 9, anybody see it???

Is it really a parts problem?

If some dealers have them and some can't find them, its sounds its more of a distribuion / supply chain problem, or a local dealer ineptness problem. I know some parts are genuinely out of stock or on back order, but more and more it seems some dealers can get them and some can't. just my .02

What station ran the intervue? You can usually go back and watch the archives.

Seems to me, It's either they don't know how to check the other dealers stock, or are not intrested in looking to begin with...... "NO we can't get them, why don't you check with our sales staff and see if they can't get you into a NEW.........."

just my .02 worth
