For all of those out there, I own an '03 Mustang and will be glad to trade for any running, driving and right side up SSR! (within reason) Don't feel bad if you get beat by an inferior vehicle.....You own an SSR!
I forgot to mention it seats 4 for those growing families!

Reason: Trying to sell the features!
My SSR: 04 UV, BOD 2-18-04, SN 5550, lots of polished billet, Superchips, K&N - Previous 03 and 05 owner
I think the SSR in the video had a weak launch. As you can see from magazine tests below, the stock 05-06 SSR will beat most stock Mustangs. Even when the SSR is beat it is VERY close. Of course drivers, weather, tracks, etc have affects on time but it is interesting to see how a 5000 pound truck compares to a 3500 pound car......

SSR... a Radical Pick Up with an attitude...great line.
SSR vs Mustang. I have both...love both. Both totally different. Can't compare them side by side. If I had to choose(could only own one) it would be the R. But for $27,000 and a little more for the Convert...a Mustang GT is a reasonably priced toy.
My 02 is capable of 13.9 out of the box in stock form ...under ideal conditions. (not me driving it). For a 2 valve 281cu motor it has the juice.
Mechanically it's been one of the best Rides I ever owned. Only goes to the shop for upgrades.
I'd like to see a S/C'd SSR paired with a Blown Ford Lightning

My spanish isn't the greatest but from what I understand the guy drivin' the SSR wasn't a racer (no WOT) and the 'Stang was heavily modified, the "R" was stock.

I have had blown Lightnings in the past a 99 and an o2. They are suprisuingly fast and with a few cheap mods, chip, ported and polished S/C, and pulley, they run in the low to mid 12's. About the same as a blown LS2 SSR 6 speed. Should be a close race. With the above mods and an upgraded valve body the Lightning can shift "Lightning" fast and it would take a good driver to keep up. I have numerous videos of lightnings embarrassing Dodge SRT Rams at the track. The lightning is more of a truck than the SSR as far as utility, but of course is a fixed roof and doesn't handle as well as the SSR . I eventually got bored with the L because I like the involvement of a stick shift and really enjoy running this sweet sounding S//C small block Chevy thru the gears.
I have also had nuvmerous stangs, incliding 4 valve cobras. They are still a lot of bang for the buck in the car world.
I watched a group "Johnny Lightning" at Cecil County, Md. These Lightnings moved. I always thought about one until I got my R. The R is in it's own class. And with a 6speed forget about it. Mine is most likely staying stock and will never be raced. The sweet sound of the exhaust while xseler8ing
No this is better put a faster super charged Mustang in there and let him take off first and then let off to keep from breakig out, Now that is more like it

Also if you Listen you can hear the tires spinning all the way through 1st. even taking off that easy on a good sticky track, The Tang had drag radials and just jumped, The SSR doesn't get the respect as a hot rod that it should
