Your Garage, Your Story: Frank Weaver's space to work on his muscle cars
In his Georgetown garage, Frank Weaver has a lift with a ceiling inset to accommodate his vehicles, including this pair of Chevrolets from different eras: a 1962 Corvette and a 2004 SSR. See more photos online at statesman.com/cars.
Frank Weaver's home is known to neighbors as the house with the garage.
The basics: This Georgetown garage is about 32 feet by 34 feet.
Mission: The space allows Frank Weaver to work on his collection of muscle cars.
The project: The garage and house were designed at the same time. Jimmy Jacobs was the builder, with Mike Moss as the superintendent. Wylie-based Performax Trailers installed the aluminum cabinets and toolboxes. Georgetown-based Town Square Floors installed the flooring. Air lines are routed in the walls, with air line hose reels in the ceiling. A Halon fire suppression system is mounted in the ceiling and attic storage.
What's inside: The space has air conditioning and heat, a lift with a ceiling inset to accommodate large vehicles, surround sound stereo and a plasma TV.
Vehicles: A 1962 Chevrolet Corvette, '55 Chevrolet Nomad, '61 Pontiac Ventura, '04 Pontiac GTO and '04 Chevrolet SSR.
Reactions: In the neighborhood, it is known as the house with the garage. Most parties wind up with the guys (and a few gals) in the garage. A neighbor's daughter recently asked to shoot her engagement photos in the space.
