Hi Doug:
Is it too late to add a Steering wheel swap and replace my ignition switch to the list of things id like to get some help with? I'm a little scared of the air bag. havent pulled a steering wheel in years, NEVER one with an airbag. I'll round up a puller and bring it with me.
I'd offer to bring something for your pot luck but traveling from Salt Lake makes it difficult. Hope you'll have a donation jar handy.
Thanks, Jeff Meldrum (jmeld)

The easy way to not worry about the airbag is to disconnect the battery. I changed mine myself to a chrome wheel and was very easy. I did not need a puller, just took the nut off and jiggled the wheel as I pulled and it came right off. I will be there and will be glad to help take your wheel on and off.

Thanks Slammer,
I'll count on your expertise. Does the horn/Airbag just clip onto the wheel?
I've had an ignition switch in my tool box for a few months now so i guess it would be pretty easy to swap it out at the same time?
Thanks, jmeld

The way to remove the air bag is with two pop rivets to poke in the holes to release the air bag. My pop rivets are back in Florida where my Red Line is. Can you come up with two pop rivets?

Hey Joe - where did you get the chrome steering wheel? We need to talk when you show up on the 11th. Ron

Pencil me in as a maybe. I'll help with whatever and I'll want some quality time with Joe.
Can also bring a set of used 4.10's for the 9.5 rear is someone is interested.
Had asked for some tune time with Joe way back when.. Don't want to wear the poor guy out though.
Tucson will have a newbie coming!!! And they own a redline!
Dave & Arlene Hendrickson live in NW Tucson. We are meeting for lunch this Saturday to assist them in getting to know us Fanatics! Dave is going to join the forum and get involved.
He has expressed interest in getting the signal mirrors and fatmat. Of course he will need to make his decision and let you guys know.

Sorry I missed you.
When I spoke to Joe about three weeks ago, he said his record was 17 in one day.....I'm sure he'll do all of them that he can. I have a couple I'd like done too, but I'll wait till next time.

Make sure they contact Mikey if they want mirrors. I don't know if there will be enough FatMat for them - we'll see.

Definitely no biggee as far as I'm concerned, Doug . . .
If there's more than he can handle comfortably, put The Doophus at the bottom of the list or scratch him completely.
The most important "fix" is the Flashing Center Brake Light and that's being handled by Rob and Fuji.

I have a computer ans the same software so maybe I can help Joe on the simple ones. At least a thought.. If so, I'll need to add some licenses before I run out.
Put me in for the front spoiler you have. I can work on the FatMat installs for doors and interior for others. Thanks!

If I wanted to do the sound proofing (sponge thingy in the roof compartment)... what would I need to bring (size and density of foam sponge)? I was told by Richard that Fuji can do it in 1 1/2 minutes
I'm headed in a day early.. so as to play a little on Friday... Thumper has suggested a couple of runs. If any one is interested on Friday to have some fun before the Fun... PM me!

I use the Ceramic Sponge found at Home Depot/Lowe's. 2 + inches thick by 7 + inches long.
I cut it in my bandsaw to 4" X 6" and then in half, gives you two pcs 4X6X1 foam pad.
I use clear silicone on one side of the foam pad, stick it to the outer wall and replace the vent.
Cost $1.96 for Foam - $2.96 for Silicone (You can do about ten pads)
Foam always stays flexable,
A lot less than $40 for GM pad with double sided tape.
Dicktator
Done about 20 R's in Florida this way and it has worked well.
Picture
1. Mark ceramic sponge for size
2. Cut and then cut in half
3. Two halves
4. How it will fit together in vents
5. Clean outside wall with cleaner so silicone will stick well.
