Just curious who's attending, when you're leaving, any stops you plan to make, how long you're staying and when you will depart for home......and any side trips you may make, like, oh, say Memphis or N'awlins.....

Texas run

We are planning on leaving Tucson Sunday morning so we can arrive in Kerrville sometime Monday. It is about a 12 hour drive from Tucson so figure we may be stopping either Van Horn or Ft Stockton.

We have invited the California group to stop in Tucson and spend Saturday night with us. Our neighbor has given us permission to use their home (3 1/2 bedrooms) plus my home (2 bedrooms) plus we have the Green Valley home (3 bedrooms) for everyone to use.

We are planning to be in Kerrville through Friday and then back to Tucson unless we get a crazy idea to travel somewhere else.

Leaving Saturday

Debbie and I will be leaving early Saturday morning and spending Saturday night at Holiday Inn Express in Van Horn, TX. Google has it at 551 mi and 7:46 driving time. Probably have lunch in Lordsburg, NM at some little mom & pop restaurant.

Sunday morning departure from Van Horn to Kerrville with Google telling me 371 mi and 4:49 driving time.

We have Sunday nite booked in Kerrville.

We'll leave Friday night, or maybe Saturday morning. We'll arrive in Kerrville Monday sometime, or maybe Tuesday. We could head back Thursday morning, but probably will stay until Saturday. Or not. We hope to not go through Detroit. Did this help...?

Hi Mike & Deb:

As you know a bunch of the So Cal group will be staying at the Grow/Coffman homes Friday night in Tucson. Perhaps we can all meet up in Tucson and continue the journey?

Van Horn hotels

My parents stay in Van Horn frequently and suggested 2 of the motels for our use. The Holiday Inn Express and the Super 8 are next door to each other with a McDonald's between them right off I-10. My Dad prefers the Super 8 as he is very price conscientious and Mom prefers the Holiday Inn Express but says the Super 8 is nice too

Holiday Inn Express -- $89/night

Super 8 -- $59.40/night

We'd be glad to hook up and will call you when we're leaving Mimi's. As for caravanning as a large group, our xperience tells us that more than 5 or 6 vehicles becomes really hard to manage on long trips. We also quickly overwhelm any facilities or restaurant that isn't expecting us. If we have more than 5 or 6, we should consider 2 groups that will meet at the end of the day. Debbie and I will be making a potty stop / leg stretch about every two hours...... makes a little bit longer day, but a lot less stressful drive.

Made our reservations for the Holiday Inn express on the 20th.

Regards,

Mike

We are doing a gathering on the 4th for Rad-SSR's at the Ultrastar movie theater in Surprise. Come on out, we'd love to meet you! You'll see about 30 instead of the 2
