This is the first tech session, we have ever attended, and it was truly UNBELEIVEABLE. I can not express how pleased and impressed I was with everyone. I want to personnaly thank Doug and Debbie for setting this up, Mike for parts, Joe for tunes, Rob and the other 20 or more installers and workers. I had to leave early to get stiches removed, so gave my 50/50 raffle tickets away. Hopefully enough were sold to pay the mechanics that Doug got to help.
Again, thank to everyone, and hopefully next time I can actually be of some assistance.
Great day! It was another example of nice people getting together for fun. Big thanks to Doug for organizing, coordinating and making this happen and to Mike for pushing himself so hard to provide such great mods in time.
Scott

What a terrific way to spend a Spring week-end! Surrounded by Fanatics ! Big Thanks to Doug and Thumper for rushing thru the week to Host the Meet & Greet at their home, and after working all day Friday. To the Decadent Chefs for providing such a "come after seconds" menu...
and the Fanatics "behind the scene" who brought the little details to make the get together more comfortable and pulled this Party Together.
To the gangs who stayed up late to kit parts, got up early for coffee and sweets, and checked off every last detail off of the check list! You guys don't miss a thing!
If there's a pill out there to break me of tech session-itis...I don't want NO part of it!!!
You Guys Rock my Week-ends !!!!!

It still amazes me how this group will get together...and EXHAUST themselves working, wrenching and helping out with our trucks.
Personally, I MUST thank Furykay and Bluestreak for installing my spare tire kit!! You two are gems!!! Joe.. thanks for the tweak on my tune... She is purring great!
For all the volunteers that worked on our trucks... from fat mats to tunes to fans and everything in between... this is an amazing group of humans that I am proud to call friends!
What an awesome day. There were so many people who contributed to the success of this tech session. It seems like everyone found a niche for supporting someone else or doing something to help. This is an amazing group.
Donald and Ernesto (two of Doug's guys) spent the day working on the hard and dirty stuff. Changing springs, brakes, sway bars, etc. They were patient, careful and willing to do anything.
The food was great - the barbeque for lunch was fantastic.
A great SSR family work day.
Things like this are successful because of the willing spirit of so many......

All I had to say was "Honey, are we going to have another tech session this year?" And the rest was history. He had it posted the next hour Everyone who attended just did an awesome job! Donald and Ernesto (our mechanics) are the greatest employees/friends! They deal with the SSR's all the time and are getting to be experts! My dad and son were the cooks on the bar-b, my mom helped in set up for food, our future son in law did fat mat(his first time!) It truly was a family affair!! Thanks to everyone who brought food, and especially to Zane for bringing half a cow for hamburgers and the hot dogs and sausage! Some of the ladies went to downtown Glendale and found a few stores to their liking We had a helicopter fly around us checking everything out and our own Glendale police stopped in the yard to check out the trucks. For a minute there I thought they were looking for Doophus. Sent him over with a dozen donuts and they didn't keep him! We also sang Happy Birthday to my son Jacob who turned 15.
From what I seen, we had license plates from Utah, Nevada, Colorado, California, Texas, Iowa and AZ. At last count we had 46 R's in the yard
So all in all it was a great time. Thank you everyone for making it happen!

That sounds like y'all had a great time...Very generous of all who contributed.
I really hope to take part next year...if there is a 3rd annual tech session, huh Doug?
In the gate at 6:10 AM (there were three SSR's there and waiting), Joe Delano, Art (hdflstf), Donald and I out the gate at 6:30 PM.
Two set of lowering springs, a fuel pump (had to drop the fuel tank), a brake job, two sets of sway bars, one set of adjustable upper and lower control arms, six sets of mirrors, thirteen sets of FatMat, six or seven spare tire carrier installations, and I don't even know how many main and aux fans, tranny coolers and radiator supports. Joe performed seventeen tunes. Add a plethora of piddly things like third brake lights, etc.
I believe everybody that wanted something done got it done, except for one radiator support and one tranny cooler, which we'll get to soon.
Many thanks to everybody that showed up, worked and played hard. It makes it worthwhile when everybody pitches in.
Special thanks to a few that went above and beyond, in my opinion - Cal Phillips and Dwight Morgan, who were under SSR's all day installing spare tire carriers - working overhead is tough, and doing it all day is tougher.
To our mechanics Donald and Ernesto, thanks so much guys, we simply could not have done it without you guys.
The lead guys that consistently take charge and get the work going (you know who you are, and so do I).
And to Thumper, the Cruise Director, for making it smooth sailing.
It was fun, we'll do it again next year.

WOW.... is the best word I can find to describe the Tech Session and all of our wonderful SSR Fanatic friends. We even had a few "newbies"! Great comraderie.
I promise NOT to ask Donald to do anything custom next year! My only excuse is that I had no idea what was involved with changing to those "adjustable thingies"! I was simply trying to get a smoother ride with 20/22" wheels!
Of course, everytime I think BLUESSR has everything on her she could conceivably need -- someone shows me something else!
Doug & Debbie -- you have the BIGGEST hearts and lots of patience! Thank you for opening your home to all of us Friday night and allowing us to have a great place to get work done on our vehicles.
Mike in AZ -- you just keep on amazing me! Thank you for keeping that engineer mind working -- and our SSRs happy!
Zane -- Thank you for being generous as usual. You are always there when we need you!
Hugs to everyone -- there is no way to thank all of you properly!

Not to mention the guy with the Paintless dent removal. I don't know how many trucks he worked on.
Thanks to Doug and Thumper for opening their home to us on Friday evening and to all who provided the goodies for that event. It may have been the first time I had Jack Daniels Pecan Pie but it will certainly not be the last.
A good time was had by all. I met a bunch of Fanatics I had only spoken to on line. Let's do it again.

This was my first tech session and was real sick but had looked forward to it for so long I drove up from Tucson cause I had to attend. I missed the party Friday night (could not get out of my hotel room once I got there). Got up early and drove over to the tech session not knowing but a couple people. I was greated and asked what I needed. Before I new it people I never seen before was helping me out installing mirrors, I remember Doug and Fugi's name but other helped also installing the fat-mat. When that was done Mike installed new deck struts and I waited a little for Joe's tune. Lois kept me company while I waited. ( I was sooo sick) I thank her for that (what a gal she is) Joe then did my tune and what a difference. Wish I had of known of Joe before I purchased my magnacharger. I'am sorry I didn't help others out much cause I was sick but I'll make up for it next time.
I just wanted to THANK EVERYONE for helping me out with everything. A GREAT GROUP OF FANATIC'S INDEED.
My thanks also to Doug and Debbie for organizing the tech session and hosting the meet and greet. Also thanks to all who made food and drinks available.
Special thanks to Mike and Jeff for installing the aux fan in my truck and to Joe for the tune.
Tell you what, you and Wayne come down next year and we'll have a whole pie just for you.
Wow Wayne & Sandy -- I'll even buy you a second one! Of course we might have to send you to hospital for a stomach pump from all that sugar overload.
The pies were fantastic. One of my REALTOR friends recommended I stop there on my to Doug & Debbie's from Prescott! WOW... what a selection. I loved the chocolate & cocoanut cream pies too. But the Jack Daniels Pecan pie was beyond beyond!!!

The first Phoenix SSR run was to have breakfast at the Rock Springs Cafe. September 24th, 2005. At that time, Debbie and I were driving a Black 2005......
Maybe it's time to do it again..............
