Smokey won "Best Paint" at the Casa Grande Car Show today!!
Thanks to our very good SSR friends, Larry & Nancy, RADSSR, for driving Smokey along with "The Comet" to the show while we went on the Tortilla Flats Run. Larry & Nancy went beyond .... They helped us wipe Smokey down this AM and did their best to keep the dust off Smokey during the show.
We also thank Moe Madrid from Bad Boys Designs for our gorgeous paint job!
I understand the Casa Grande Car show would love for all of us area SSR owners to come as a club to their show. Larry spoke with the organizer for quite awhile and has all the details.

Nancy and I took Jim and our SSR's to Casa Grande to showcase one of the best real flame painters in the US (Moe Madrid from Bad Boy Designs) and guess what a SSR won one of the top 5 awards at a major show.
It was a big deal since it was a newer car against the classic rods and bucket tee's. I've got to tell you there was not just the common local show cars there, in fact there was several $100,000 plus rods there and Jim won. It is so impressive to see a modern era car win a major prize. It says so much about the design of the car especially when the award was voted by the other show entrants.
Congrats, Jim and Glenda, that blue flames on black is a winner, well deserved win. Was so good to see Moe's work honored.
The event organizers would very much like to see more Fanatics at next years show, Al said he would give us special club status, which means a block of space on Main street and multiple awards within a special catagory. I think we should organize a run next year. I will pass on more details about next year.
lets see , yu go to tortilla flats friend takes ssr to show, then get all invited to next years. then tells you that you won best paint and GIVES you the prize after man now that is a true friend
very nice paint it should have won anyway even if you were there

You owe Larry and Nancy big time for being there in your place!
Also, Chuck Norris' car sold at Barrett Jackson today - the one that Moe at Bad Boy Designs painted - they showed Moes company name on the front of the car - he has to be very pleased.
