We are planning the Mt Lemmon run for next Saturday the 8th. We need to know how many will be able to make this run.
We will meet for breakfast at 9am at Ole Restarant on Orange Grove & LaCholla (more information below) in Tucson and then head for Mt Lemmon for a nice cruise and a piece of pie at the Mt Lemmon Cafe. There is a car club show that evening at Chili's on Cortaro near I-10.
Sept. 8 - Arizona Pavilions Classic Car Show/Cruise-In (I-10 & Cortaro Rd - behind Chili's) - Free Entry - 6-9pm - open to All Cars, Trucks, Bikes, and Special Interest Vehicles - (Hotel Finder) - Tucson - Info: Brian 520-744-7903
If anyone needs a place to stay Friday or Saturday night, let me know & I'll see what I can find!
I'm still not in a position to buy an SSR yet, but I'll get there.
I'm sitting here in my house (with a couple of SSR toys by the computer) looking over at Mt. Lemmon right now. You're going to have a GREAT time.
It'll be fun for you to 'gun it' with a cliff wall by your side to get a good 'Vroooom' rumble to bounce back to your ears.
I used to love driving my long-gone suped-up turbo rotary RX-7 up there. Pick the right gear... on the gas, off the gas, on the gas, off the gas... nail it coming out of a curve into a long uphill straight, off the gas, on the gas... repeat as needed!
Enjoy that home-made slice o' pecan pie in Summerhaven and get a cookie at the cookie cabin... don't forget the milk.
Are you gonna let your neighbors to the north have all the fun? This run is in your back yard (so to speak) and we'd like to have you and your join us. Whaddaya say? See you on Saturday? (We'll try to make Paul behave, but it won't be easy! )

Doug if you need to borrow an SSR we can provide you and Deb.
If you are coming down through Oracle on Oracle Road..... come to Orange Grove and turn right. Head west to LaCholla. Ole restaurant is right behind the Diamond Shamrock on the Northeast corner of LaCholla & OrangeGrove.

Thanks Paul and Doris, that's a very generous offer. I'll know more after tomorrow. Worst case, I can just turn the air off if the '06 starts to heat. I don't have a clue what's up with the Bunny, it's been sitting at Sands Chevy since Thursday.
Great news everyone - a new owner here in Scottsdale will be joining us for the Mount Lemmon run. Phil and Anita Seltzer picked up their '05 Smokin Asphalt - you heard right - THE RIGHT COLOR - late last night. They left for California this AM to pick up new wheels, but will be back in time to make the Tucson run.
