Sedona Run

Sedona Run starts
Friday:
Check into THE Radisson Hotel “POCO DIABLO RESORT”

Contact information is “SSR Fanatics” POCO phone number is (928) 282-7333.

Radisson Poco Diablo Resort
1752 S. Hwy 179 ,
Sedona AZ 86336

They will have a roped off area for SSR parking. They will give you one of our Eclectic Image Gallery cards with directions on it. We will have your Sedona Run Packet at the gallery, located in Tlaquepaque Village.

Eclectic Image Gallery
Hwy 179, Tlaquepaque Village
Suite A 109, Sedona AZ , 86336
928-203-4333

5:30 to 7:00 Our Meet and Greet, We will be at our Gallery “Eclectic Image Gallery it is only 2 miles from POCO, and as it is first Friday, in Sedona that is when the artists are in the gallery. We invite you to visit us in our gallery and pickup, our handouts and schedule and a Sedona Map if you don’t already have one.

Dinner Friday night will be on your own, with many recommendations for great food and or Red Rock Views. I will have information about the restaurants and where everyone is meeting at the check-in. Some of us are going up the hill about a block and have some old fashion BBQ pork sandwiches at the “Red rock Barbeque” They have an assorted menu, not just BBQ.

Saturday:

8:30 to 10:00 The Radisson Hotel “POCO DIABLO RESORT” has a nice bar and bar food for those who missed dinner is open until 2 AM I think.

Saturday morning we will meet in the Poco parking lot at 8:30 leave for breakfast at 8:45 meet at JB’s it is a small resturant in the Basha shopping center. JB’s is a nice restaurant and they said they would cater to us as a large group and keep and area available for us. I know the “Coffee Pot Restaurant” is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants, but the wait on a Saturday is usually 45 minutes for more and they do not do large groups in primetime.

JB's Restaurant
1950 West 89A
Sedona, AZ
928-282-0541

9:30 to 9:45 Rally up in the parking lot by JB’s for a morning run through some of my favorite Red Rock Locations. The run will take about an hour and a half, and then head for Full Moon saloon.

11:30 meet in Oak Creek at the Full Moon Saloon, for lunch and or a trade and or swap of parts, everyone of us has stuff someone else might want to buy or trade. Or just hang out with your friends and catch up on the news; it is suppose to be an awesome day. Full Moon saloon will be grilling in parking lot for us and it is buffet style burger, chicken wings etc. It is suppose to be $10.00 per person.

Full Moon Saloon,
7000 Hwy 179 in the Village of Oak Creek (part of Sedona)
Suite G100
Sedona AZ 86351

1:30 head back to the Radisson POCO, parking lot. We have arranged a jeep tour and will pick us up in the parking lot at 2PM and will return at 4PM

For those not taking the Jeep tours, there is always shopping and road trips, or just hang out around town and enjoy our Sedona. Ask me for any info about the area and we would be glad to help you find something to do.

6:00 Photo shoot of SSR’s infront of Red Rocks, details to follow you can meet at my house and have individual photos at the end of my street. Then continue onto our backyard for cook out, dinner and drinks in the evening, and Watch a Red Rock Sunset.

Elaine and Duane's House and BBQ location
141 Vista Bonita Dr,
Sedona AZ 86336
928-203-9181 or my cell anytime anywhere 928-274-7749

BBQ is looking AWESOME, we have a pizza chef "RD RAGE" all the way from Santa Fe, for personal 6" home made pizza appetizers. On the barbeque is “Chef Jerry, a BBQ award winner and Robs father inlaw”. The menu includes Smoked Ribs, chicken, Kosher dogs, potato salad, western beans, etc.

We did hookup with a local band for music and they will be in my backyard at 6:30, it should be fun.

Sonic Run at or about 9:00 Blue Thunder to head up and round up group to Verde Valley Sonic. We have called a head and they said they would be glad to have us and keep an extra staff on hand.

Sunday:
8:30 Sunday morning for those not heading out early, we will see you for an early breakfast at Poco, after breakfast meet in the parking lot at 9:30

9:30 We will start a Run to Jerome and a walk about town, at 12:00 head down the mountain to Cottonwood “Willys” a gas station turned into a 50’s style diner for a great lunch, and one last photo shoot.

Willys Burgers and Shakes
Old Town Cottonwood
794 North Main st
Cottonwood, AZ
928-634-6648

For those heading home, it is easy access back to route 260 in Cottonwood and go east to HWY 17 North or South, for those who have the time, we will be heading back to Sedona and of course shopping.

I know we will all will have a great time and we will see you Friday.

Maybe 5 trucks and 10 fanatics! Looks like Robert and Elaine ( ICBlue ) may join us for breakfast in Banning and the Phoenix lunch.

9:30 p.m. - We are loaded and ready to go except for the last bag.

Wish the rest of you SoCal fanatics were joining us. I feel like a big chunk of my family is missing.

Wow!

WOW....................what a fabulous weekend. The weather was super, the scenery was gorgeous and our fanatic friends were a blast. All the events, activites, runs and reservations were so organized and the details were planned with such care and forethought. Not only do Duane and Elaine deserve a big hug, but their son (Rob) and his in-laws, plus Elaine's girlfriend worked so hard to make sure everything went smoothly. The BBQ party was certainly special and your newly landscaped backyard was fantastic. Also, thank you for the beautiful matted photo of the red rock formations and Oak Creek river that were given to each of us. Mine will be framed and up on our wall and will certainly remind us of this outstanding weekend.
A big thank you.....................Lloyd and Gerry

Deborah and I certainly want to weigh in and express our heartfelt thanks to Duane, Elaine, their son, Rob, and the support crew. You guys did an amazing "fanatic" job. The entire weekend was an absolute reflection of the very special people you are in every way. We treasure your friendship. As usual, their were new friendships begun and others deepened. I know I keep saying it, but I just can't believe the life long and life changing friendships that have begun because of buying this little "hot rod" pickup. See "ya'll" in Penticton and Durango.
