Sedona Run
Sedona Run starts
Friday night June 6 through Sunday morning June 8th
The times on this schedule may changes as we fine tune the run, I will keep you posted.
We thought we would build a Run with optioins, you can sign on or option out to do anything else you choose. If you have walkie talkies we will try to tour guide you around Sedona during our runs.
For those who are going to be day runners, please let me know what part of the Run you are interested in and I can try to keep everything coordinated.
I know it took awhile to get this together the problem is Sedona is a small town and no one wanted to commit to large groups.
Friday night, Check into THE Radison Hotel “POCO DIABLO RESORT”
Contact information is “SSR Fanatics” phone number is (928) 282-7333 Let me know when you make your reservations, Nightly rate is normally $189 and has been reduced to $128 I have reserved 30 rooms and is first come first serve. They will have a roped off area for SSR parking.
5:00 to 6:30 Our Meet and Greet, We will be at our Gallery “Eclectic Image Gallery LOCATED IN TALAPAQUE ON HWY 179, as it is first Friday, in Sedona that is when the artists are in the gallery. We invite you to visit us in our gallery and pickup, our handouts and schedule and a Sedona Map if you don’t already have one.
Dinner Friday night will be on your own, with many recommendations for great food and or Red Rock Views. I will have information about the restaurants and where everyone is meeting at the checkin.
The Radison has a nice bar and is open until 2 AM
Saturday morning breakfast meet at JB’s in the Basha shopping center at 8:30 JB’s is a nice restaurant and they said they would cater to us as a large group and keep and area as much as possible. I know the “Coffee Pot Restaurant” is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants, but the wait on a Saturday is usually 45 minutes for more and they do not do large groups in primetime.
9:30 Rally up in the parking lot by JB’s for a morning run through Oak Creek canyon up to Flagstaff scenic lookout at the top of Oak Creek. After a meet at the top, head back down Oak Creek and disperse into Sedona and head for Full Moon saloon.
11:30 meet in Oak Creek at the Full Moon Saloon, for lunch and or a trade and or swap of parts, everyone of us has stuff someone else might want to buy or trade. Full Moon saloon will be grilling in parking lot for us.
1:30 head back to the Radison, parking lot. I have arranged a jeep tour and will pick us up in the parking lot at 2PM
DO NOT CALL THE PINK JEEP, I HAVE ALREADY ARRANGED FOR THIS EVENT, YOU NEED TO CONTACT ME FOR SIGN UP AND MAKE SURE I HAVE SPACE, BEFORE SENDING A CHECK TO ME FOR THE JEEP TOUR.
This is one of those things when in Sedona, you must do. You will be wowed by the experience “Pink is giving us a break on price usually $93.54 per person , Leslie the Grout manager was giving us a 20% off is now giving us a 25% off of list price letting us in for $72.97 per person, and you will need to contact me for the signup list, and I will be paying Pink and you can pay me back”. First come and First serve, and they can not have more that 7 jeeps on this tour at one time. Pink will pick up passengers for our four-wheel adventure at Poco . The Broken Arrow trail is Hoot, awesome scenery and a can be a heart stopper, as the elevation changes, are radical. We will stop at an area to do a photo shoot of all of us on the tour. The tour takes about 1 ½ to 2 hours and will drop everyone back at the Radison parking lot about 4:00
For those not taking the Jeep tours, there is always shopping and road trips, or just hang out around town and enjoy our Sedona.
5:00 Photo shoot of SSR’s infront of Red Rocks, details to follow. Then continue onto our backyard for cook out, dinner and drinks in the evening, and Watch a Red Rock Sunset.
BBQ is looking AWESOME, we have a pizza chef "RD RAGE", for personal 6" home made pizza appetizers . The menu includes Smoked Ribs, , potato salad, western beans, etc.
I am trying to hookup with a local band for music.
Sonic Run at or about 8:30 to 9:00 Blue Thunder to head up and round up group to Verde Valley Sonic.
Sunday morning for those not heading out early, you can catch an early breakfast at Poco, JB’s or any where around town, after breakfast meet in JB’s parking lot at 8:30 “We are meeting at JB’s because the Y traffic can be congested on Sunday morning and some construction of Hwy 179 causes some delays in this area. We will start a Run to Jerome and a walk about town, at 12:00 head down the mountain to Cottonwood “Willys” a gas station turned into a 50’s style dinner for a great lunch, and photo shoot.
For those heading home, it is easy access back to HWY 17 North or South, for those who have the time, we can head up to Jerome and see the sights, and of course shopping.
This is not designed to be totally structured but try to schedule in as much as possible for those who have not visited Sedona before. We are open to suggestions or modifications to the Run.
Hope you all will have a great time.

Was just there over SB weekend. Stayed with a Giant bud who lives off 89A. Make sure you have breakfast at the Coffee Pot...best omueletts I've ever had. One can't believe the views from this town...stopped taking pix because it didn't due justice to what your eye sees.

We are there. We will be in our third week of training in Phoenix the 9th thru the 13th and then leave on the 14th for Penticton on the 20th - 22nd. So, the first weekend ( 6th - 8th) would be great for us. June is going to be a very busy month.

sounds great
As I find out how many are interested, I will setup accommodations and I know we will have a lot of day runners, too. Hope to see everyone in Sedona with the top down , driving though Oak Creek Canyon topless is incredible.

Randi,
I have to work on Friday, also. Lets meet up and caravan over Friday late afternoon for the festivities Saturday and Sunday a.m. If we leave around 3, we could be there by 9 or so.
Hi Duane and Elaine,
Lloyd and I would like to be included in this Sedona Run if its being held the first weekend in June.......a beautiful setting. We'll be at the US Open golf tournament in Torrey Pines the next weekend, then off to Lake Penticton soon after that..... oh how we love the retirement life!
