Sonoita Winery is having their Blessing of the Vineyard.
A few of you expressed interest in possibly doing a day run down to Tucson and on to Sonoita to the Winery. As I stated the Sonoita Winery's annual Blessing of the Vineyard is coming up. Depending on the interest, we can plan a day outing to the Vineyard along with maybe a side trip to Tubac for shopping??? Below is the information I received from the Winery:
The Blessing of the Vineyards Festival is our first festival of the year, where you can sample all of our wines, partake in fabulous food and wine pairings from local restaurants (and our wines, of course!), experience a winery tour from our winemaker, Fran Lightly, join in an actual "blessing" of our vineyards, embark on horseback rides from Arizona Horseback Experience, meet the author of "Four Corners Vineyards and Wineries" and experience a book signing, as well as bottle-feed baby goats! The best part is that this event is AFFORDABLE and FAMILY FREINDLY! ($10 for wine tasting; $2.50/ea for food and wine pairings). This event is going to be held during our normal business hours of 10:00am - 4:00pm on Saturday, April 25th!

Glenda -
Please sign Sue and I up for Sonoita Wine Tour on the 25th.
IMPOSSIBLE, Glenda . . . the average age in Green Valley is at least 100!

I bet you don't travel to GV often? It's really a very nice place to relax, read books, play golf, etc. And as long as we eat dinner by 8pm the restaurants are still open!
I just go off the phone with the Sonoita Winery people. This sounds like a wonderful event and we should really enjoy ourselves.
We will all meet on Saturday the 25th @ 8:30am at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant at I-10 & Cortaro Rd (one of the Marana exits as you start to enter Tucson).
At 10am we will drive to the Winery in Sonoita (I-10 to Hwy 83 and down to Sonoita).
After we are finished at the Winery (around 2pm) we will drive down towards Nogales through Patagonia (beautiful drive) and then around to Tubac for a little shopping & fun. We can then either eat in Tubac or drive on in to Green Valley/Saguarita to the 50's diner for dinner.
Check Post #1 for those attending & to be able to view the flyer for the Winery happenings and come on out and join us!

Hi Glenda, we had thought about driving down for this tour but I just got out of the hospital on Monday and I'm still not "up to snuff". Hope to see you guys on May 2 at the car show up here though. Have fun and have a glass of wine for me please.
We are ready for tomorrow's cruise to the Sonoita Winery & Tubac.
As a reminder, we are meeting at the Cracker Barrel at I-10 and Cortaro at 8:30am where we will have breakfast before starting our cruise to the Sonoita Winery.
