It was great surprising Debbie (Thumper) for her 50th birthday! Doug had asked a few of us to gather the SSR Fanatic troups -- and we managed to get quite a few of us to meet at Mary Coyle's Ice Cream Parlor in Phoenix.
A fun time for all of us -- the ice cream was yummy!!
These pictures aren't very good but they do show a very surprised (& weepy) Debbie when she discovered her brother whom she hadn't seen since 2001 was here from Arkansas to help her celebrate too.

Happy Birthday Debbie. What a great surprise Doug and Glenda arranged for you. So special to have your brother there also.
There is nothing greater than to have friends with you to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Deb, REALLY wish we could've been there! Glad the ice cream social was a surprise and success and glad you got to see your brother...way to go Doug!
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
I won the gift bet,
with Ette and Boo Boo.
Thanks everybody for showing up, the cards, emails, PM's and phone calls. Oh yes, and the 3 AM text from OP and Leann
I flew out our oldest daughter (Jessica, also known as Ette) from Portland and Deb's brother (Boo Boo) and sister in law Cindy from Arkansas as my gift to Thumper for her birthday. It worked really well with the help of her dad.
It was the first time we've had all five of our kids in the same room since 2004.

There were lots of "helpers" to assist Doug and I was just one of the group! These SSR Fanatics are true friends and always willing to help!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBBIE!
Looks like everyone pulled off another great surprise and really wish we could have been there. Sorry to have missed making a phone call but still having trouble remembering what day it is Hope you have another, equally great, fifty years
First of all, thank you everyone! Friday night we went to the movies with Bigwave (Elaine and Duane) and the great Rad-SSR (Larry and Nancy). I thought it was strange Doug wasn't blabbing about my birthday and the big 50 this weekend. We were supposed to meet my parents at the ice cream parlor with the grandkids. We wanted to spend some time with Piggy before her surgery. Which has been wearing on me this past week. Doug also helped clean house (so I thought my daughter was coming in from Oregon) As I was on my way to the ice cream place...Hotrodgirl called me wishing me a happy birthday. I knew then there would be fanatics involved I seen a couple of R's in the parking lot and knew it was a party happening! As I was walking in the door I see my BROTHER Who hasn't been home since he moved away ages ago. I'm to old to remember how long it's been. His wife Cindy was there! And my daughter! My whole family! My parents, my in laws, ALL 5 kids! Then there was all our amazing fanatic friends! You can't have a better birthday than that, even if it was the big 50. Thank you everyone for all the chocolate, tequila (yes OP, I will share) and the various sizes of stuffed rabbits! We came home and took all kinds of pictures with the family together, as soon as I find the cord to the camera I will post pictures. Thank you Dwight (Bluestreak) and Gary (Weary Eagle) and Fuji for the phone calls! You guys are just awesome. And only OP can text me at 3 am and get away with it. Can't say enough about my wonderful husband who made a really crappy weekend go really fast! Love you Honey! Thank you everyone. 50 really isn't so bad.
