Toys at the Museum - Dec 3rd, 2011

Christmas Toy/Food Drive Saturday Dec. 3rd

I know the economy sucks. So I decided to add to the toy drive and include food that will be donated to St. Mary's Food Bank. I am hoping we can benefit some families that really need the help this year.

Mel Martin's Private Auto Museum
17541 N. Black Canyon Highway
Phoenix (north of Bell on the East side of I-17)

Noon to 2:00 pm.

Bring your unwrapped toys (no stuffed animals). Or if you have non perishable food items I will take those to the St. Mary's Food Bank. Mel has graciously offered his museum for us to enjoy. If you were with us a few years ago when I did this he has doubled the size since then. My parents were just there the other day and said his latest addition is a car that was used in the series "Hogan's Heroes (I think it was Col Klink's).

At 2:00 we will head em out on down the road to have some pie Or late lunch (you know what I will get) to eat (we can't meet without food being involved) at Rock Springs Cafe 35769 S. Old Black Canyon Highway.

It is early, but this will give you time to mark your calendars! What better way to spend the day. Great charity, great location, great food and awesome friends

We've contacted the US Marines Toys For Tots to have them pick up the toys at Mel's museum

Come on out for a great afternoon, and help two very worthwhile charities!

Mel Martin has graciously allowed the local Zonies to visit his private museum at no cost to us, because he's a great guy, a lifelong friend of Deb's parents, and we're donating to Toys For Tots and St. Mary's Food Bank.

He's incurring costs to make this happen, let's make it worth his while please.

Come and join us!

Jeez, you guys just never stop, do ya?!

Any restrictions on the types of toys - like no stuffed toys, any age restrictions, etc.?

Might as well sign us up - I'd like to see what he's added to the museum, and ol' what's-her-name loves to shop.

Where are the Zonies?

This event will be a lot of fun, come on out and enjoy a superb auto collection, and a run for delicious pie afterwards, with the company of great friends!

Your donations of toys and canned goods will help many families have a better Christmas.

Thank you, thank you very much!

Last year the Marine's let me know the day of our event that they would be there to pick up the toys.

Today they let me know they will be there on Dec. 3

Seems like this year they have it together!!

So happy you can make it!!

Holidays are for family, whether it's kids opening their toys or families just sharing a meal together. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. It's nice to help others have that also.
