What performance exhaust system is recommended for the 6.0 liter SSR 2006

I'm back after enjoying a week of driving my 2006 SSR 6-speed.What a great driving experience I had.I'd like to get some input from the group as to what exhaust system to select.I want a real throaty muscle growl from it.The stock exhaust is ok but I want more.I see Borla,Flowmaster, magnaflow.Your input is appreciated because I want to do it right....Thanks Tony from Arizona.

Definitely no expert here but . . .

The MagnaFlow Cat Back from Performance Peddler has a great sound while not being too loud. Great price as well.

I built my own with some Corvette Z06 mufflers - but that's another story...

I see that you're from Arizona, you might want to check with our member Mike in AZ as he at one time was offering a darn cool exhaust system. I don't know if he still selling them anymore.
Here Mike's web site for additional info.

CORSA CAT BACK---Works well- quiet when you want it to be and has the performance and sound when needed.

I've been testing the redesigned True Duals from a new vendor. The sound that comes from these is truly awesome.... Nice and civil at cruise, but very, very commanding at WOT. I still have a little more work to do with the shop in California that will be building these for me. There's too much drone in the system and we are going to modify it with a balance tube to cut it back. The SSR will always have drone at 1600 rpm, but this configuration has a little too wide of an rpm range...

I'll have them ready for others to "test" in about 6 weeks or so.

[QUOTE=El Donovan;1034755]I have Flowmaster muffler and just installed Mikes`s 5" tips it sounds great.

So you replaced the existing stock muffler with a flowmaster. How does the sound compare vs the original? On a scale of 0-5 how much louder is it?Does the 5" tips make a difference over the OEM's.Did you consider putting dual exhaust(two flowmasters)? Is there enough space underneath for the two mufflers? If I went duals, would that require two catalytic converters?

You need to listen to one of Mikes exhaust systems in person. We have them on both of our trucks and they are the best, you can tell in a group of SSRs which have Mikes.

My 05 6speed had the CORSA touring on when I bought it, and I love it. Nice low rumble at idle, but get on it and it barks real power! No rumbling at 1600 rpm cruise.

Hi; I think all 05 & 06`s come with 2 cats. My car came with flowmaster when I bought it.. So all I had to do was add Mikes`s tips. So I don`t know what it sounded like with the stock muffler. Maybe check out Mike`s true duals when available.

All SSRs have dual cats. The computer uses the upstream O2 sensor on each side to adjust the fuel injection for best air/fuel ration on that bank. There is also a downstream O2 sensor behind each cat to check for proper converter operation..
