Hey u Ontario Fanatics

I'm not sure how many of us they are in Ontario, But we should see if there is any interest In hooking up for a run this summer. I have not given it any thought as to when or where but am interested if any of you are. I'm thinking when we find out who is interested and see where everyone lives perhaps we can find a central location and meet up. A weekend would be best for myself as I still have to work. Anyway I live in Napanee about 2 hours east of Toronto just off of the 401 perhaps when you post if you could give a similar description of where you live from Toronto . In my area Picton area is beautiful in the summer but I'm sure there are other more central areas to meet. I'm thinking ride and a barbque, Your welcome at my place as well, hot tub, pool and boat and I love to barbque LOL. I'm not looking to take charge here but quite willing to help. Maybe there is already a group started in Ontario, I am fairly new to this Fourm so if there is let me know please.

You should consider making the Woodward Dream Cruise a destination. There are already a few Ontario SSRs heading that way. Check out the thread under national events - Debbie (Hot Rod Girl) has arranged a tour of the GM Heritage Center on the Friday.

Those who have attended the last couple of years have had a blast - don't have time to drive there from the west coast, but I'm flying in for the weekend. Can't wait.

Love to meet more of you from the far east.

REBEL from the south

Four hours south of Toronto here, near Leamington / Point Pelee Park.
We had a run here last year, and a few from State side came up.
We will see who all answers this post, but for me I have to plan around Tomato season.

Woodward is a good event for you to try and make, you will see many from on here at it.

Thumbs up Brampton Ontario Here

We are in Brampton which is about 25 miles from Toronto. We also have a cottage on :Lake Erie about 90 miles away. I mention it as we are not far from "Toronto motorsport park" or something like that it used to be Dragway Park Cayuga and they changed the name--anyway I wonder if we could run the 1/4 mile or something. Just a thought.

Please keep me posted on whatever is decided as we would be interested.

Goodluck with this !!

Well Ontario Fanatics

It appears that at this time anyway, there are only 4 of us interested in hooking up for a ride, as I am working and out of town alot and my schedule is not always in my own Control, I don't what to make any Promises I can't keep. Rebel, CanCam & Mycheal are all of you going to Woodward, If you are I was thinking that perhaps we could and if anyone else wants to join us maybe make it a couple days or so longer. Seem's we need to be in Woodward On Thursday Aug 16th. I was thinking maybe Meet up maybe on the Monday of that week and take the long way to Woodward, I am game for anything ( well almost) I am married. There are a lot of nice area"s on both sides of the border that time of year. Anyway I am planning to book my hotel room in Woodward today if possible. let me know if there is any interest as I think I am just going to take that whole week off. If there are only the Four of us inerested I have lots of room and beds & parking at my place and if you like we could meet up here and send the day and take off around the Lake from the other direction, through the Thousand Islands area- Do the boat tour etc. Let me know and we can make plans I am flexable with meeting where ever is good for everyone.

Looks like Wayne and I may be attending a family reunion the weekend of July 14th in Cambridge. Much too long a drive due to time contraints, so will fly into Hamilton. I see a few of you are just up the road. Perhaps we could meet up to shake hands and have a looksee at your rides. And Niagara is too close to miss out on while we're in the neighborhood.

Canucks at Woodward and elsewhere

Hi Guys,

Sounds like the whole crew of us will be at WDC in August. I'm also up for something on this side of the line too - maybe a fall leaf-peeping tour on some of the twisty bits around Bancroft and Haliburton perhaps?

I am In also Brian

I am soooooooo busy right now, also my mother in law is quite ill and that is taking up any spare time we had. I guess we are at that stage of our lives just getting the Kids out the door in time to move the parents in. Anyway once we get everyone comfortablely situated again I hope to be able to have time for a couple trips this summer. My wife Nancy and I plan on doing the Woodward Cruise which sounds like a lot of fun. Debbie ( Hot Rod Girl ) puts a lot of work into it from what we have heard. It would be sweet if we in Ontario could also start a bit of a Club maybe just start off with one event this year and grow from there if there is an interest. I personally do not have the time right now to even attempt to get this started but would be willing to assist in any way possible to see that we could gather enough SSR fanatics in Ontario together for a run, and meet everyone and maybe discuss forming a club. We don't have to get too formal or organised just something small and simple for now. Ontario is a huge province as we all know so a Central location for a first run would likely be the most practical to ensure a decent turn out. I would suggest the GTA area but first we need someone to take the lead. So if there is anyone with the time or energy to put something together count me in for assisting and showing up. I have seen some pretty simple events in other area's even just meeting at a restraunt for dinner and conversation. The first step would be meeting and discussing.

One suggestion to get a group going with relatively little effort - tie a cruise into an existing car show.

We are doing that with the Penticton Peach City Beach Cruise, and they allocated an area where we could all be together on the grass. We were originally hoping we could get 15 - 20 together, but we're at 34 now, with two months to go. The really amazing thing is that we now have two SSRs coming from Arizona, and more expected

NW SSRs at the Penticton Peach City etc

It lets us have a get together, but the parking, entertainment, food, vendors, etc are all taken care of by the car show. In our case, the 50 bucks entry fee is a bargain. Two days of live entertainment, 400 plus cars to drool over, steak dinners included, a Friday poker run, Saturday night cruise, etc. Can't do much better than that.

Look forward to meeting some of you at Woodward. Whoah - bad English. I meant I look forward to meeting ALL of you who make it to Woodward.

Why don't we do a poll to see how many SSRs we can attract?

Hi Mark

We must have both bought our SSR's arond the same time as I also just bought mine in Feb of this year, so I am also a newbie. I will be going to WDC, and look forward to meeting you. I have been getting out as much as possible despite the weather even had the top down today for about 10 minutes I hope we can get a small club started in Ontario. Take care and happy motoring
