My wife and I will be traveling north to Niagara Falls July 17 & 18 and then on to Bar Harbor Maine on the 20th. The 21st-28th we will be all over Nova Scotia. Hope we can hook up with some of you then. Will spend the first three days in Nova Scotia at White Point Resort on the very southern tip but looking forward to meeting some of you near Halifax or wherever you are! This is sure to be our ultimate SSR long cruise!

Ed
Ed let me know when you come through DC. Maybe we can get something to eat. and you can come by to see the baby.
Colorardo: I saw that one on ESPN this year. There was an awesome SSR racing in it but it is not in their photo gallery. I wonder if they are on this forum? The entry fee is pretty steep, nearly 4K. Can't afford that on my teacher's salary. Sure would like to see it though.

Rain? What's That?
We've had nothing but hot sunshine since I can't remember when. Today I checked the digtal outdoor thermostat and about fell over. It read 117.2 degrees .
It sets 7'6" off the ground, but is on the sunny side of the house.
Have fun on your trip , as the hot weather is coming your way.

At the FALLS NOW!
Just got off the phone with Ed and Kris. They are settled in on the 30th floor overlooking the mighty Niagara Falls & Horseshoe Falls in Canada! Hope to get a chance to see him later tomorrow!
Have fun you two and talk soon!
Marc: Sure hope to see you today. Hopefully we can hook up after we do the usual tour stuff under the falls, through the falls, etc. This place is just amazing. Should have seen everyone eyeballing "Black Betty" as she cruised the strip in style yesterday. Hope to get your SSR and ours photographed by the Niagara On the Lake later today when you get off work. If any of you ever wondered about driving on a long trip, this is a great journey to take. I had no idea N.Y. had so many wineries! I felt like we were back in Nappa or Sonoma! See you this afternoon. Sorry I don't do cell phones but do have an antiquated old Trac Phone so I will get that out, turn it on, and hope it works over here in Canada, but I don't think it will on this side, so call the hotel no. I gave you last night. The fireworks and lights on the falls last night were awesome from the 30th floor. We could see everything. What a beautiful place! Wish I could post pics, but just don't have the tools with me.

Meeting with Ed & Kris
I wanted to say it was a great pleasure to have met up with Ed & Kris. I really had fun driving around the falls and having dinner with them. Thought I share with you a few of the photos we took today.
It seemed like the Police were following us all around the falls... Great times at the Falls by all!

Wow Marc! Those shots are just sooo cool! You had me worried when you tried to stand up on that trash can to take those other shots. I thought for sure the cops were gonna be hard on us but they were actually pretty nice. In Va. Bch. they would have nailed us with a ticket, but these guys just asked us to move along, AFTER MARC GOT THE SHOTS OF THE YEAR! We are just having way too much fun. Ya'll need to get in yer SSR's and get on the road man! This is living as it should be!
I sure wish I had the capability to post some pics from my camera while on the road. Some of these shots are just amazing with Niagara Falls, the boulder strewn coastline and lighthouses of Nova Scotia, and panoramic views of Bar Harbor, Maine. We are having the time of our lives.
Todays journey took us to the Cabot trail, but first, last night we stayed at the Goodwin's Chat and Chew in Lorneville, just outside of Amherst on the Northumberland Strait, right on the water. Amazing views, great water temps in the 70's. The guy that owns the place (Frasier Goodwin) showed me his 1927 Chevy (he is a former master mechanic for GM). It looks kind of like a model T but cooler. Amazing how those push rods are exposed and the oil fills from the top and all. We talked for a long time about the wooden wheel spokes, and other things about cars. Then he showed me his 55 Chevy (blue and white). Both vehicles were perfectly restored and driven just five months of the year because of the harsh winters here. I forgot to call "Halifax' and hook up with him, but being the great guy he is, he called me at the B & B and we talked for a bit. Nice guy. Next time man! Soooo sorry.
Later we did the Cabot trail and I got to tell ya, if you want twisty roads, high cliffs and amazing curves and views of the ocean, this rivals the Pacific Northwest where I was sure the views were the best ever. Game over, NOva Scotia wins. We also saw another black SSR on the Canso CAusway going the opposite direction. Who are you man! It was soo surreal seeing another black SSR on the road, in fact, this was the only one we have seen so far.
Tonight we are in Baddeck and chillin out but headed for Liscombe tomorrow. Another gorgeous marine drive on the trail. Kris got to drive most of the Cabot trail while I did the photography. I think it may be hard getting those keys back! The cliffs were totally vertical and what insanely gorgeous shots we got. Can't wait till we get back to post some of them.
