Update: The thief Norm Maurice was able to pull off his scam and not only get free SSR parts but he also got to keep my money. PayPal just awarded him the dispute he started. I will never again ship a package without a tracking number. The customs declaration numbers don't always get scanned in so it can't be traced. That was a damned expensive lesson for me. But, it strengthens my resolve... NO MORE SHIPPING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES!
Does anyone know a Norm Maurice from Sturgeon Falls, Ontario?
This person purchased two items from me on eBay (eBay ID: edna3845) and then didn't pay, and won't respond to numerous messages, emails, etc.

I thought that was the point of using e-bay. They made sure the payment was made. Don't they act as a collection agency as well? I never use them but that was what I thought was their selling point. Isn't that what YOU pay them for.

I have his address and email address too. I just figured if someone knows the guy maybe we can help him get checked out and the items paid, etc. so I could ship the items. I think with a zero (0) feedback rating on eBay he's a newbie.

eBay is a place you can list things for sale. They also own PayPal and that's one of many ways of accepting the payment. But, eBay really doesn't do anything to act as a collection agency. If a person buys something and then just ignores things (such as this) the seller is left hanging and has to go through a 10 day process to get a refund for the listing and final value seller fees. Just a pain in the "arse" basically.
If I can't get any communication going and so forth... I'll ban the person from ever buying from me on eBay again. (That's one thing that can be done on eBay).

Doc I feel your pain. Why people ever agree to make a purchase and then dont pay drives me nuts. I have sold one of items and when some one agrees to buy it and does not pay I cant not sell it to others, until who knows when.

At lease you still have your merchandise.
I had a situation on a Corvette site (Not Corvetteforum) where I bought some collecible books and pictures. Sent the payment by PayPal. After a month with no rsponse I started getting worried. After 2 months I started quietly asking questions in private to a few other members. I also sent regular emails to the person to see what had happened. After three months I posted a public question as to the whereabouts of this person and within two days received a VERY nasy email from her accusing me of slander and advising that she had spent the last few months looking after her father who eventually passed away. I offered my condolences and advised that I had just gone through the same process with my mother passing away but had continued to live my life and meet any outstanding obligations I had while I went through the grieving process.
The goods arrived a week later with an appology note.

I'd thought of that too. Through the years I seem to have found several people who don't follow through with a purchase. The most common problem is they were ill or a family member was ill. Maybe... or, maybe it's the most used excuse.
