My SSR: Striping by Fairfield, Confidence by Mike in AZ
Since we have 2 trucks, we try out something new and if it "works", we install on both.
Neither one is THE test mule.... it just depends on which one we're doing something to and when the brain fart occurs.
We view "customized" as a hard change and "personalized" as a soft change. Hard as in hardware, and soft as no parts addition... just paint, vinyl, surface additions, and NO Body or hard parts additions. We view personalized as being no addition of hard parts to the exterior that changes the factory profile. (which would be Bear)
Wings, ground effects, hood change, Lonnie lites, etc, would fall into (our) customized category. (which would be Hawk)
We are having fun in two categories (in our own opinions) but, the more we drive our trucks, there will be more changes which will cross the boundaries of this poll. Not-to-worry.... it won't change our need to adapt our trucks to the changing needs of our driving needs/styles in the coming future..... money prevails....

I believe in stock, just ad things to make it look better, without going crazy. Some chrome wheels, pinstriping, etc. Keep it real clean is more important, I see quite a few SSR'S that are in need of TLC.
I have only owned the SSR for a few weeks, every Sat. there is a high end dealer that sells high end cars and he sponsors coffee and shine every Sat. in front of his store, last week there were over 150 cars of all sorts with 8 SSR's in attendance. I hope that they keep this going, but our economic times could hurt, because the high end dealer seems to not have a great deal of sales going on.
We have a small group of folks with SSR's that are very nice people, we will probably hook up with them for future activities.
I saw the best customized SSR I have ever seen, Yesterday while shopping for a new Home. My wife was with me, and she got the urge to use the Ladys room. So she left me there and went down to the closest place of convenience. When she came back, she was Topless. Now that was sexy, and the best customizing I will ever see on my SSR.
Sheeesh. Reminds me of the time we broke the horn on our Cadillac.
My SSR: 06 Smokin' Asphalt, 6 Speed, MagnaFlow, Front and Rear Spoilers, Revolver Red Stripes, Named XS CASH
Joyce and I are really happy we purchased our SSR. We have other "Toys" but always find a reason to drive our R.
She gave me a hard time about the red stripes and adding the front and rear spoiler. She felt it looked best stock. But now says it's her truck. Go figure.
I was worried about the trip to Texas last summer. Thought other owners would be disappointed we made these changes. When I saw all the customized trucks, I felt right at home!!!
Thanks to all of you we really enjoy being part of your family!!

My SSR: 05 Silver 1SB, Born on 08/25/04, Lighted WindsuppSSR, Flowmaster 40, Black Wheels w/ Firestone Tires
How do I like our SSR'S?
I like mine (05 Rico Silver) customized. Flowmaster exhaust, black powder coated wheels, Mike In AZ lower radiator support, air dam, finned differential cover, finned transmission pan, black main grille spear, black fog lamp bezels, body color engine cover & air box, Floyd's nerf bars (front & rear), lighted windsuppSSR. I plan to add a black scallop on the side and Lonnies modified board brackets and coat the boards with LineX. My wife's 05 Aqua Blur is almost all stock. It had 4.10 gears, Greg's convertor, trans cooler and servo and a set of Floyd's nerf bars. I have bought a set of Aqua Blur running boards to replace the satin ones. It has factory chrome wheels and added exterior chrome.
My SSR: '03 #01155 Painted stripes, Flomaster, K&N air system, Port/polished Throttle Body, Custom Tuned

I have thought about adding the black stripes to the hood and rear deck of my SSR like 32Revolver's only opposite colors...black on red to match his red on black stripes. I'm still thinking strongly about having them painted on as Dicktator did on his silver SSR. Are your stripes painted on 32Revolver?

asked him about them before and he said yes with a very special color near and dear to his heart

Stock or Customized?
Love my stock SSR which is why I bought it in the 1st place. However, after going on many SSR runs I chose to customize exterior by adding pin stripping & painting calipers. Inside have added GM mats & soft bags.
It's hard not to think about doing more because owning an SSR is an experience that seems to evolve.
My SSR: '05 6-spd. 'Piano-Finish' Smokin Asphalt Build date 1/25/05
It's only original once!
When I had my '67 Nova, I'd cash my paychecks at Sontags Speed Shop in Crest Hill on a weekly basis. Those were street-racing days and it was a quest for RPM's with no limitations. That was 39 years ago, I get a thrill out of my SSR just the way she is and enjoy the 6-speed and 20+ MPG I get when I go for an afternoon cruise. My Nova would pass everything but a gas station. I'm addicted to golf and don't have time to be tearing apart a vehicle with 3270 on the odometer. I also don't need to start street racing again because the wife might drop the hammer on me!!

Golf is not a matter of life and death, it's far more important than that!!

Ron,
Stripes are painted on and covered with 5 coats of clear. Then sanded everything smooth. Lot of work but I think it came out great!!
I voted slightly customized, at least it will be when I get it back from the (seems like an eternity but it's only been a couple weeks) body shop. I suppose I should have said altered too, with Mike's fan, Mike's radiator support, and Trailblazer crossmember, but I don't really consider those mechanical changes like a blower or gears. I just ungraded what was there to much more gooder versions.

I haven't left a car stock in 25 years so I'm quite sure the R will tell me what she needs.
I installed an all stainless steel DMH electronic exhaust bypass this spring. It is the oval low profile model and I welded it in post catalytic and it is so much fun.
Given that the cats muffle it down you can rumble around town with it open and it is quiet enough that you can pass a patrol car and they will not turn a head.
But get into it and you can be heard for sure, along ways away. It takes less than 2 1/2 seconds to open or close. When I am driving it I will open and close it perhaps a dozen times in a day. These things are slick, easy to install and has a four year warranty all for 200 bucks. Can't be beat.
