Arrow A New Photo Contest

Thought I ask to see if our members want some more photo contests.

BTW: I want to thank Keith, kwhopper89 who offered his help in starting up another contest soon.

I am also looking to see if we can get another Photoshoped Contest (after Keith's is over) as well.

BTW: Below is one I just conjured up... Alex05SSR's beautiful photo and made it into a reflection image. I took this image from the members Gallery section and played around with it a little bit...

*Please share your ideas for the next theme for our SSR photo contest.

I am using one of the Adobe Photoshop Elements programs. Very reasonably priced but there are many others out there that have the same features and will also do pretty much the same tricks.

What happened?

In the past, there's usually been some kind of acknowledgement thread that the contest ended and such-and-such was the winner and congratulations, yada yada...I was just wondering what happened this time? I saw one post about Buffy being out of town, but that was several weeks ago, and nothing since then. I wanted to see how the calendars were going to be put together and was hoping to see all the top twelve get their kudos. By the way HotRodGirl, thanks for your applause, and I want to say to all the other photo contestants: CONGRATS! We all know what the others went through to set up those shots. We had set ours up twice because we ran out of light the first time. Do you know how hard it is to steal a fire truck two different times?! Without getting caught!

Crystal and I both want to congratulate you both on being the overall contest winning vote getter. It was an interesting race between us even up through the final weekend. I'm sure it was clear to all that you both used a lot of imagination and went though a lot of trouble to pull that photo off. You both were certainly VERY deserving winners!

But then again, ALL the ladies are winners and I'm glad that they all participated. It was both fun and entertaining. However, with well over 4,000 members, it's sort of a shame that the contest could only muster up 260 votes.

Photo Contest & Calendars

We are all for the photo contest and of course Jim liked the "girly" photos...... however, speaking for all of us women, turn about is fair play -- where is the "manly guy" photos????

Actually we really prefer SSR photos in great settings and that is what our calendars should be too!

Will there be another calendar for 2007 that is not a "Pinup" calendar???

We really loved this year's calendar and hope to have a 2007 calendar like it we can purchase.

Custom Image Contest

I was thinking we might want to do a custom photoshop contest on some of our great SSR photos? Below is couple of examples of Doug & Margo's sweet looking SSR. I am looking for more images to try out. If you think you have a great shot please send them to me.

Here's some more neat effects you can do with Photoshop ( Rippled Water Reflection) & a filter add-on called "EyeCandy4000" which has a "Flame" effect & "Chrome effect" for the lettering.

...too many toys to play with!

I would propose a photo contest of customed painted, custom body, or any other fairly radical custom SSRs.

Wheels ?

TheALEX005 picture is fantastic. Can someone tell me what wheels are on the Silver SSR (make and size) and if any modifications were made to the springs/height. It sits beautifully ! Great picture.

Thanks,

John

BTW, thanks "89 Rod" for pointing "Stray Cat" in the right direction on the wheels. How's that for a play on words?
