I have never been a player on ebay but if the bidding is legit, why would a bidder raise their bid three times, a**k, without anyone else placing a bid?

and it's a 1:18th scale not 64
perhaps a dent/scratch in the front of the hood?

when the bids go up and up by the same person I think it's because another has a secret bid that is higher.

I was going to post about this one. If you read the ad you think that it is a "special" SSR prototype, a "two" of a kind special factory item. In fact, if you look at the nameplate it states it is 2004. I think the seller tried making a simple silver truck a 2 tone and added a few stickers. Thus the reason he states "not perfect", because I think there are issues with the work done and he only did 2. Didn't even get back on the stand correctly, it should be facing the opposite direction like all the other factory items produced.

Buyer BEWARE!!!!! I am very skeptical due to never seeing or reading anything about this particular "version".

I do NOT believe that it is worth the current bid unless someone can show me documentation that this is a special factory part. I can make these up all day long using existing diecast parts but it doesn't mean there is anything special about them ....

Does somebody know the real scoop behind this item or is it a painted $22 selling for over $150?

100% Having a fairly large SSR diecast collection myself I would be very skeptic of this SSR diecast being what it says it is! I'll pass on this SSR diecast running!

This means that someone bid but it is not high enough to beat the current bidder. In the example below,
1. a**d had a winning bid in of $67

2. k**k placed a bid in of over $100 but the only bid that is posted is the one that beats the current bid. Thus, $75 is shown as his current "winning" bid although there he is willing to spend more.

3. Someone, probably a**d, placed a bid of $70

4. Since k**k had a higher bid, his automatically shows at the next higher amount, $75

5. Again, someone bids $80, k**k still has his highers bid set at over $100 so his shows again

6. Lastly, a**d bids $137, well above k**k highest bid so now a**d is currently the winner.

Hope it all made sense ..........

Thanks for the explain--Dragon2U, after reading your example, it is clear to me. As I said I'm not a player, guess that I would have to go the "Buy It Now" method.

I agree that documentation would go a long way. I've never seen this one before either, but other models have been made for specific races. It might be legit, but it seems something is missing.

If it is a home-done paint job and graphics, it's actually pretty good. I thought it might be an 06 parade truck, but if so, the Allstate graphics are missing.

The 2006 Indy race had red SSRs with the upper blue/white stripe as parade vehicles. I have one of those in 1/18th. The label on the base is the same 2004 label, but they were 2006 vehicles. I was seriously looking at 23180 at one point.
